RAW Rapid TM1000 - Rode hard and put away wet.

Buddy of mine picked this up from an old club member that moved on from the sport probably at least ten years ago. He lived close to the range we had and was retired so this thing was shot a LOT! I don’t know the last time it was out of the case but do know whenever the last time it was put in the case it wasn’t cleaned first.🤣

The rifle is an early gun so I will have to reach out to Martin and see what serial number things changed. It isn't holding air and will need a full rebuild so I figured I would put up some before pictures.

It is missing the fill cover cap if anyone has a spare laying around.

Looks like she needs some TLC and she will look as gorgeous as ever Rob! Congratulations!
Thanks, unfortunately this one isn’t mine. Just doing it for a buddy because for some reason I enjoy it??? Like smashing your thumb with a hammer. It feels so wonderful when the throbbing stops. 🤣

I know he only used scuba air but the brown staining around the vent hole?

Epoxy flaking off from diy bedding.

Removed the foam in the cheek riser.

Unfortunately the glue leached the color out? The finish still seems sound but the yellow color is gone.

It had a couple of lead weights screws on. I will need to fill the holes.

Really hoping these are not metal shavings but that is what they look like.

Very Nice indeed !

Four hours later, blistered thumbs and a pinch in my shoulders I think I have most of the human dna off of it. 🤣

I took it all the way to bits and cleaned and just put it back together so nothing gets lost.

Martin was kind enough to reach out and let me know he will be back in a few weeks and get me sorted on an updated reg and seals. Gives me time to give the stock some love and clean things more.

Now to see if that ZM2002 still has air. 🤣

That looks a lot better, amazing what a good cleaning will do. No way in He!! I could let one of m guns get to looking like that no matter how much I shot or how old I was.

The early RAWS are some of the best to own! Martin didn’t let them out until they shot immaculately! I’ve owned several over the years and regretted every one I’ve sold. (Still own Three…🤙) I noticed it has the thimble so that’s a good sign!

My TM was S/N 252 and I bought it in 2013. I started using it for FT, then a couple of years later switched over to 25M BR. I found that the full length CF shroud was thermally fighting the barrel during temperature changes, so I removed it and shot it bare barrel.. Actually, later, Martin replaced the barrel with a polygonal one with a thimble so I could index it. I also replaced the 180cc aluminum tank with a 260cc titatium tank. All done by Martin. It was a fabulous gun, but alas, I moved to where there is no competitive events to use this gun and sold it. When Martin gets done with it, you'll love it.
