HW/Weihrauch HW75 Cocking Effort?

I find that cocking seems lessened by holding the gun in your shooting hand and push the gun closed against the open (flat) hand /arm held close to your body . braced against your body . wish i could take a picture . maybe you get the idea ?

no, they can be a little hard to close
to close and not pinch a finger is always the goal
yes, always keep the muzzle point in a safe direction or put the safety on
SSP pistols are all a little hard to charge and a Webley Alecto as a 1-2-3-4 pump pistol can be for only the strong
i have a P17 that will take all your strength, so it sits in a case unused
the key is don't damage the rear sight

I prefer the effort to close the 75 vs the opening the 45. But ya, a comfortable safe direction if possible. Its going to be somthing youll grow in to using that gun in your own best way .. the more you shoot ot the easier it gets so to say ..
You got a great pistol just got to grow accustomed with it .. Rome was not built in a day

As you can see, it is neither too easy nor too hard; just get used to it. It should point down when closing it.

Lol.. been there too. I kept a palm pad to help ease the pain. Some guns sre strong springed / piston and you just go in to body building mode to get use to and make it easier .

Anyways now you know. Like i daid the more uou shoog it the eaiser ot gets . Then its just natural no prob..

Great pistol and im jealous so go shoot it and enjoy.

if you are righthanded i would think you close the cocking handle with your left hand
get a pair of Deer skin gloves and wear the left-hand glove it will help more than you think i do not get near the P17 i have without mine
better grip no fear of pinch and not in the way for one- or two-handed shooting

It's interesting that charging a 75 is often mentioned as being tougher than the twice as powerful 45/P1
This is because you can generate more power and leverage from triceps than the larger appearing bicep.
With the 75, your right hand fights against the force coming from the compressive force applied by the left and starts to wobble if not strong enough, but no major bad thing, improving strength provided you do not trap skin.

However, it's got a bit tougher than it once was. Also no bad thing, as models over the last few years have been reported to be a tad more powerful.
What was once a 375 fps gun, is now an easy 400fps to 415fps, much the same as the P17.
I suspect they have took out the dead space after reports of disappointing low power @2010-2021

yes muzzle pointed down . The cocking effort was a bit of a surprise to me also , but that's the way it is . Holding the gun away from your body there is no solid stop you create two opposing forces to over come .
