Howdy folks, relative newbie (to AGN) here. Been shooting air for several decades. Currently, I have a Bullboss, Armada, Swarm Magnum, Jet II, & Notos in .22, and an Eagle Claw in .50. I mainly shoot on my wooded lot at 50m. I used to hunt but nowadays it's only paper. Thanks for having me, ~Pete.
Welcome to AGN!

Hey are you still shooting ? always looking for new people in the area !

Hello everyone,

I live in Lincoln, Nebraska and I’m looking for a shooting partner, or a group of shooters near me.
What I am really interested in is competing, and I need a coach or mentor that can help me make the move from powder burners( I was trained to be capable of shooting at ranges out to 1300 meters) too air power. I would be willing to travel to you and get temporary housing nearby and just go to a range and shoot for several days to a couple weeks.

I am very serious about this.

A little about me. I am a medically retired veteran(I’m 53), who just loves shooting and competing. If anyone has suggestions or is the person I’m looking for. Drop me a message.
I have a wide variety of rifles all ready and I will be building a competition rifle, once I figure out the perfect setup for me.

My name is Randy. I am a collector of vintage airguns. Concentric spring air pistols are my favorites (e.g. Hy-score). In 1968, I was given a Winchester 290, 22LR I was 6 years old. I've enjoyed shooting airguns since then almost daily. As young guy, I was an US Army gunsmith and CNC machinist, after further education I was employed as an economist in NYC. I am retired so I try to attend all the airgun shows in the northeast.
A google search bought me to AGN classified ads. Unfortunately, I was not able to purchase the vintage airgun because of the 10 & 10 rule. Maybe AGN can consider allowing a free marketplace to flourish instead of blocking transactions with regulations. I buy from AGN but never sell because the pool of buyers is limited by regulation. I realize some people love the forced participation but freewill, freedom and free markets rule my mind.

Violet Talley from Northern Illinois (Elgin Area) here. My love of fishing and hunting began at a very early age thanks to influence from my dad and brother. After mostly fishing for many years, I wanted to explore hunting more extensively, however I fell into air guns accidentally. I was in Cabelas (my favorite store) and wanted to talk to some gun experts about guns and hunting when I came across the air gun section. I immediately fell in love! I loved the look, feel and surprising power of the air guns, and right there, I made my first purchase: the .177 Gamo Big Cat. I played around with it for about a year and learned more about air guns from experts and online YouTube videos (Ted's Holdover is the BEST, thanks Ted) and I just made another purchase recently... just waiting for it to arrive: the .22 Crosman Nitro Venom.

I hope to be able to connect with other air gunners, especially in the Northern IL area. My husband HATES To fish and "kind of" likes guns..... so I would love to find people to connect with and areas to be able to use my air gun since I live in a subdivision in the Elgin area and I doubt my neighbors would be happy with my "plinking." I would live to explore hunting with my air gun in the future, but I would like to learn even more about all of the possibilities with these amazing guns from great people like all of you!!!!

Excellent choice, both the rifle and having Mike tune it!
Now if pistol appeal at all The one (for a springer shooter not wanting to invest in air source.... ) is the crosman 1701P . Under priced for what you get, actually Very easy to fill with a $50 hand pump, only downside is every time you miss a bullseye it was 100% your fault.
Post up a report after you've got a few hundred shots through the R7. (and research that 1701p).

Awwww, John- you made me go look it up!!
Was looking at another PCP pistol yesterday that was for sale on here- a guy who's apparently selling some of his excess guns on eBay (is there any such thing??? lol )
Definitely looks interesting!
My first adventures in pistol shooting was in an old CO2 Crosman pistol my dad had- back in the '50's!

Oddly enough, I've been here since April, yakking away...never introduced myself.

I'm 68, retired in 2019 to the beach...Myrtle Beach, SC...from Huntsville, AL, where I lived for ~55yrs.

Grew up in the 60s tramping the woods and cotton fields with a Crosman 760. Jack of all trades, master of none.

Started competing in NRA pistol silhouette in the 90s...but more attracted to antique firearms. Shifted to Highpower (Garand) and then BPCRS and Long Range BP Target Rifle and Long Range Muzzle Loader (1000yds). Put it all away in 2003 for various reasons.

Pest control (squirrels) brought me back. Really enjoy benchrest, poking holes in paper. Looking forward to my first 100yd PCP groups...soon!
