250bar gauge VS 300bar gauge?

If I have a gauge that only reads up to 250bar, am I ok using a 300bar bottle filled to 250 (gauge will read max pressure)? Or should I upgrade the gauge to one that reads up to 300bar (gauge will read 250, with 50bar of unused gauge)?

Am I over thinking this?

Youre fine. The pressure vessel has overhead in capability while the guage does not, and it reads the range you intend to use.

250 is 250, period (ignoring individual gague inaccuracies, of course).

Whether your gauge max is 250, 300, or even 1,000... if you fill to 250, you're GTG.

Either will work for you. What's really nice about the FX gauge is that it has a 270° sweep. Most gauges are only 120 or less

Wish I could have found one with an 8 mm thread. I ended up ordering a digital that I'm still waiting for.
