I just purchased a .22 or .25 caliber HM1000x with the offset moderator, is it better to purchase a new barrel/sleeve from RAW or is removing the offset moderator and using an off the shelf moderator a viable option? I read there is a gap in the carbon sleeve, is it that bad, does anyone have any pics?

did you buy a .22 or .25 or both?
I've read or was told they are welded/glued on and it takes heat to remove them but this is second hand info.
My HMX1000 came with a 1/2" unf threaded barrel end and i use a STO Sarissa moderator to hush her down nicely.

The ebay ad said .25, but then the seller said he thinks it's .22 because when he was packing it he looked at the pellets that his friend gave him with the rifle and the pellets are .22. At the moment I wasn't sure how to tell someone not familiar with the rifle how to verify the caliber but for the price I was getting it, it really didn't matter to me if it was .22 or .25. Later I realized I could of asked them to check the magazine but at that point it was already packed up and shipped.

From what I'm told his friend had a stroke before he could shoot the rifle and gave the rifle to the seller. The seller never shot the rifle either because he never wanted to make the investment in a pump.

Looking at the pics, the magazine looks like it says ".25" and from what I can tell from pics online .25 caliber magazine is the only magazine that has numerals in that location. .22 and .30 have numerals on the other side of the mag. We'll see when it gets here! or if i got scammed lol

A 16mm barrel when used with the .4 or .48l CF bottles has only @ 1/8" gap and nearly no gap if carbon 16/18mm sleeved
PERSONALLY LIKE THE LOOKS OF THE OFFSET ldc ... while not super quiet, it can be made more effective & quieter easy enough.
I like the look of the offset moderator as well, but if I decide to to get more plenum space or a larger bottle the offset moderator is a hinderance. I definitely like the look of an inline plenum over the one that comes out the bottom. If the rifle turns out to be .25 I'll probably shoot it as is for a while, but if it turns out to be a .22 I might decide to get the extra plenum space and larger bottle to shoot slugs and/or heavier pellets.

I got two other barrels to keep the original barrel in new state.

I have a .25 and .22 barrel from theobens with 1/2 unf, that works fine with a Plenum and a 700cc bottle
How much is a new barrel with shroud? I've reached out to RAW directly but have not heard back. My only other thought is maybe shortening or moving the original offset moderator forward so it accommodates a larger plenum and bottle while still looking stock.
