FX Double Bottle Compact

Im tossing around the idea of getting a Saber Tactical double bottle adapter for a compact Impact M3.

Does anyone have a similar setup, or picture of a setup they could share? I'm just trying to get a feel for how wide and heavy a compact would be with double 300cc bottles.

Part of me thinks that I'm going against the build philosophy of the compact; being compact, light and portable. The other part thinks that compact only applies to length and the added shot count might really be a fun thing.

Tangential idea because I know the parts exist. A regulated buddy bottle 92 inches or so in a belt mounted pouch with a coiled remote line like the cover fire guys (me) used to use in paintball. You could keep the gun light, minus the tether pull and have 1300cc of air. Just spitballing because I'd considered double bottles too. Now I realize it's all a non issue for me because I can go fill after 28 shots anyhow, the truck won't be too bad of a hike or I carry a buddy bottle in a day pack. It helps I bought the 700 m3 and have a 580 bottle on it too.

I double bottled my Skout Epoch compact a while ago with dual 300cc bottles. Things got weird. Don’t do it because after the novelty wears off, you’ll be back to one bottle. It goes against everything you love about your gun. Shot count? It’s 2025, who worries about shot count. Carry an extra 300cc bottle if you burn through that many shots hunting. If you’re just paper punching, then there truly is zero concern for shot count.

Thats not a bad idea. I might look into that. I wish there was a bottle that would fit the compact but not require a barrel diameter moderator, even a 330cc or 400cc ideally.

Don’t do it. I had a double bottle on my Maverick that I sold. Worse thing was trying to put it in a case. Just get you a 580cc or 700cc bottle With a DonnyFL Koi. To have the moderator stick past the bottle.

There's a 330 if you are OK swapping the valve to it or buying a valve too. I have a 330 from Amazon on my aea turd gun. The extra 30 cc is good for a couple extra shots.
I was really worried about air for years and years and then I took an interest in fine tuning. My question is how many shots at what power level and caliber do you wish to get? My dreamline compact with a 300cc bottle surprised me with 32 shots. 25 cal 43 fpe and it's a 380mm. The m3 can be tuned more efficiently.

I realistically only use soft cases, so I dont think it'd be that big of an issue. But I will keep that in mind. I cant seem to find hardly any pictures of a dual bottle setup from above or below to show how wide it really is.

I had bought a 2nd hand Impact M3 and converted it to a compact, and it was leaking before I could even get any shots out of it. Sent it off for a reseal and its due to arrive back home tomorrow. No idea how many shots I can expect tbh.

@Stretchearstrong =

These are some of Ernest Rowes from around 2017 . I think He did an awesome job (y):coffee:

I dont think its worth it. I believe you might actually get less air than a 580cc or at least close due to Boyles law. I think the efficiency loss is going to be worse on 2 cylinders vs 1 cylinder (I might be wrong on this), not to mention the extra weight and bulk. My old Impact Compact seems like it got about double the shot count when I had the 580cc on vs the 300cc. Also the extended length from the double bottle adapter might interfere with the bigger diameter moderators.

What I prefer to do is run the Compact barrel with a 580cc bottle and get a moderator that is the smaller 1.22" diameter so you get the best of everything.

What caliber is it now? I can try and guesstimate where your gun will end up with your desired caliber, projectile weight and power level. At least within the realm of my experiences. If it's 22 your in luck

I'm going to guess minimum 2 bottles wide with maybe a 1/8 gap. It's probably a more expensive route than a smaller diameter mod and a bigger bottle. There's always the 310 bar fill conversion too.

I put a buddy bottle in my backpack soft case now and it's done well for me. My m3 is 700mm and I was fighting a balance issue with a harmonic tuner and ronin, so my opinions are flavored by that experience if I seem avoidant to double bottles.

Can't you get longer bottles that are narrower? All you'd need to do is put the fx valve on it.

The buddy bottle seems like a good route. What compressor are you filling with?

This is awesome. Is the double bottle setup worth three squeeze? Or is it too cumbersome compared to a single?
Just like I said in post #3, the gun got weird. Didn’t like it. Very short lived. Seemed like a good idea until the handling of the gun became just plain weird.
