newbie needing purchase help

Looking for recommendations on what to purchase for attempting to eliminate pest crows invading my farm (and yes, this is legal where I live). They are damaging my crops, eating feed meant for our livestock, harassing our livestock and causing property damage. I've tried scarecrows, reflective tape, netting and noise control to no avail. I don't have a great shot but should be able to get pretty close (within 30 yards I'd guess). Thank you.

To answer your question, simplest thing if you can get that close would be a .22 springer, like a Crosman from Wal Mart, would be the quickest way to eliminate your problem. Just put a decent springer rated scope on it and get 2-3 different types of heavier pellets to try 14-18 gr and use which is most accurate. Say a nickel to quarter sized group at 30 yds.

talk here on AGN for 10 days and at least 10 conversational post and you can go on the classifieds . But as Dean said most likely a wally world special can fit your need DO NOT buy a Magnum , the higher the power the harder to control !!!
Also what state are you in or city , maybe one of the members is close enough to help out with the pesting Crows and you can try a gun or two out .

You wanting to do $300 total, scope and all or just $300 for a rifle? If you want something PCP style, you will need to allow money for a means to fill the gun with air. A spring fired gun may have to be pretty potent to take down a crow. The more powerful a spring gun gets, the harder it is to cock and shoot.

Welcome! The options are deep and wide. I know what I like, but there are more than several other AN members that would recommend other solid packages for the job. I started out with springers. But once I tried a PCP, not going back to a springer unless something unexpected happens. Spend some time looking over the forum and when you see a pattern that fits your situation, I'd say watch the AN classifieds when ready. Crows ... those buggers are smart.

$300- is that reasonable?
I am a crow getter, my favorite setup for it is WAY out of your budget. (fx dreamline tactical compact 25 with an element helix scope using hades pellets) and it's good from 15 yards to 110 for the job.

25 cal works awesome for that work because even a marginal shot is taking them down. There's also the fun that if you get a couple in front of their friends and leave the bodies there for decoys and get a couple more in front of them all, they'll stay away for a couple years usually.

Whatever you end up with, hide the glint of your objective lense and your eyes as this will clue them in and they do learn what your gun is in short order. If you can shoot from cover or obscure your shape you can put a decent dent in them while the "gittin is good" I learned this lesson as a kid with a pump benjamin 392 in 22 with a cheesey scope. Shoot from under a patio umbrella and they don't know where you are for a bit. My buddy's ranch and my house look like no fly zones for the crows. They go right around.

My 392 would do it within 30 yards and I was shooting crow mags at a measly 680fos at the muzzle. It did it till the marauder was released.

To the op, Pcp compressors are as cheap as 175 on Amazon now and hand pumps (a real workout) are as cheap as 60 dollars. If you have a paintball shop around or a sporting goods store that fills paintball cylinders you have other ways too. I wouldn't have it any other way than pcp rifles for crows and squirrels these days. Like all things it's budget and personal preference.

If you do decide to get a pcp rifle to hunt with, I have to leave you with this funny and painfully true meme. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
