Hm.
I keep ´em all. From the lowly 177 pcp to a full blown 338 Lapua Magnum for extreme long range - and they all have a place.
Yep. I run both "leaded n unleaded" no doubt, as many do just like me.
On big bore pcp´s though i´d state that it´s got its future up ahead.
Why?
Well.
Where i live hunting is reign. We´ve been doing so, even dangerous game (wolf, bear, wolverine, hogs and so forth), since the beginning of dawn using powder burners.
However.
Since the advent of 50cal pcp´s and what have you..
Hm.
Let me put it this way.
A 50cal pcp of later origins. Well capable of power to down roe deer for example (say 1000J).
Here we have a hunting gun that doesn´t weigh like a freight train. Less recoil compared to a powder burner due design, as it´s most likely subsonic in turn real simple to muffle and the thing runs on compressed air.
Hard to get anymore enviroment friendly than that so... didn´t i just explain the perfect tool for the job really?
Through the woods that 50cal in hand. A low key THUD.. and roe deer down. Meat on the table for all. That´s a win/win at least in my book, tell you that much.
As such, will pcp ever replace PB´s?
Nah, not even close. Fugedaboutit.
Is it coming up as the underdog inside track, as an alternative though?
I´d say so. Tell me i´m wrong.
That being said i don´t hold any big bore what so ever and nor do i, for now, care to. I´m all to happy fiddlin around with my 177s..22s and 25s.
Content right there. For now that is.
