What pistol did you shoot today

you are are Wealth of Knowledge my friend…I appreciate your comments…my 2 biggest heroes in this department’s are …Bob Munden and Jerry Charles Miculek Jr….I also picked up a couple of Crosman Shiloh and a couple of Peacemaker 44…the Shiloh can’t do a fanning …not sure about the peacemaker yet…thanks Marker
Oh, one more thing. Even with the gun all set up, be prepared to blast through several thousand rounds before you can reliably hit anything by hipshot-fanning 🙂👍

Took this 3 out early this morning for exercise before it got warm. Been a long time since I've shot his, all had pressure where I left it months ago.

Thanks. I like those sorts of projects.
I have the Peacemaker, can’t say I’m any good fanning it. To do that I’d need to mod it.
Never had a Shiloh. You’ll have to tell us how that works out.
I did get a Barra Schofield, and it’s a heavy slug of metal. Much slower than the Colt to draw.

Anyway, you mentioned Bob Munden … might be fun to set up a balloon at 10yds and see if you can hit it with a quick-draw. Something a bit more interesting than plain ol’ target shooting, eh?
One of the Peacemakers came in today and of course it leaks air…not surprised at all…that would be like winning Lottery…lol…without doing modifications it doesn’t have the ability to Fan the Hammer…so the only gun that can is the SA6…I slipped a piece of 3/8 fuel line over the hammer and but some grease on it to make it slippery…I will let you know how it works..waiting on some balloons 🎈

Shot this old home made pistol this morning. This was a philippines made air rifle I made to a pistol back in 1975 when I was stationed at NAS Cubi Point during my time in the navy. The 10 oz. original tanks I shortened has a capacity of 4.3 oz. good for 130+ shoots when left attached. Stock Ipil tree wood local to the philippines.

That’s a classy looking rig! Looks solid, too. I’d like to see more made like this

I'm waiting on my nephew to stop by some time so I can have him bring down a custom bullpup stash in my barn rafters. I made it in the early 90's after watching Harley and Marlboro man and saw the Steyr Aug, before bullpup was in vogue. I used Korean pcp rifle parts for it.

I thought I would be shooting this pistol today …I was so wrong 😑…this Crosman 1861 Shiloh was like NIB..ordered the kit from ebay Henry Ford…took it apart and of course the kit was wrong…do not attempt to disassemble unless you are in a empty room with a table…springs will fly..spent a hour looking for it…to reassemble this you will need the patience of a Tibetan Monk and Octopus 🐙 hands..toughest one I have ever done…4 hrs later it is holding air for now…I have one more to go…lol

Took out the Crosman C40 today. One of my heftier all-metal pistols. Makes an effective club if you run out of ammo :)
Seems to work very well with 7.0g flathead pellets and I've found that it's important to seat the pellets just below the face of the magazine (with something slightly curved) to get consistent grouping.
Supposedly the 1008 magazines will work in the C40 but I haven't had any luck with that. The original mags work fine but the newer 1008 mags do nothing but jam, even though they look identical to the naked eye. No idea what's going on there.
Double action trigger is slightly gritty, as are so many pistols using this internal design. Single action however, is butter smooth.

Brought out the Crosman 1701P for a little action at 25 yards offhand, 2 hand hold with a MatchDot II using the 2 moa dot. From 2500 psi to 1700 it shoots the Air Arms 7.33’s at 453-476-458fps for 50 shots. For a lower powered pistol, this 1701P is surprisingly accurate at 25 yards. This is 20 shots.

It’s looks like I am doing more rebuilding than shooting lately..I couldn’t pass up on this on..yeah another Crosman 38C..was like NIB..just needed resealing and a lube job…still wicked tight…shoots straight…I was able to get 60 decent shots off..given it 5 mins CO2 warmup time between reloads..before I fire it I usually insert a spent cartridge and set the piercing seal for about a hour to create a impression in the seal..but I always seam to loose enough air before I can get it set..probably another 10 shots worth at least …I think for these models I will need a bit for my electric screw driver and set the torque values…a round bit with a blade in the middle…should be quick and easy …seems like I am going through 100 a month…should put myself on automatic deliver’s…lol…I should have set up a rig from a spent cartridge with a tire valve in the middle jut for checking for leaks would have save me some money in the long run
