BSA BSA Students, I could use your help on this one... BSA, Hunter side lever, rifle???

I had one of my YouTube channel subscribers email me asking if I could provide any info on his rifle. I did several internet searches using all sorts of applicable terms like, BSA Hunter Air Rifle, BSA side lever, spring air rifle, etc..., but I came up blank. After more than 50 years of being a springer enthusiast, I'm completely stumped. I've never encountered this one before, nor can I find any reference to it online. I'll bet there's some knowledgeable folks here who can shed some light on this. I've attached the photos that he sent.

I'd love to be able to link this thread for my subscriber's benefit. Thanks in advance, gang...

I agree with xsarfc9x. Looking at the stampings, they are clearly not "factory" - alignment and tilt are variable as well as a weird font. It would be interesting to know where its owner is located as I also suspect this is an Asian-made gun. Rather nicely done; it just needs the lever replaced to be a cool example of creativity in the airgun world.

Garvin already replied. He's confident that it's a fake. He suggested the Philippines as a possible country of origin. I'm hoping that this thread or the one that I started on the Vintage Airgun Gallery will yield more info.
Here's a link to that post in case anyone would like to follow it.
