Optima 3-9x40AO fine for backyard PCP/1322 pesting?

More than sufficient imo. I'm a zoom preferring shooter, I like lots of magnification to accentuate my small movements in the sight picture and a lpvo (low power small scope) has served me well for those ranges on a short barrel semi auto carbine. Even a red dot on my 1322 works and red dots or lpvo are NOT usually something I can abide. 15m, it should work well for you. As for gun choice, you're aware of the hatsan reputation. I will refrain from comment because I do not have trigger time on one.

Thanks, yeah I will probably go with a simple red dot on the 1322 like the one you shared, still thinking a short zoomer scope for some sort of PCP gun(either pistol or bullpup or something).

Thats the sniper brand(cheap relatively speaking for ffp) lpvo I use for around 30 meters max. I want to say it's 1.5-5 and illuminated reticle. It's first focal plane because I hate memorizing the hold changes for zoom. An Amazon scope.
