What would be a good first premium pcp? I've been looking at the RTI Mora, what others should I consider?
I think I saw your add it is one of the rifles on my list...I will contact you as soon as the app let's me and if it's still there I'll get more info thanks! The mora is a nice rifle, FX panthera/dynamic, Skout, Daystate. There are tons for benchrest as well. I have a nice USA made Skout Epoch in the classifieds, there are a couple Raw hm1000 in the classies also US made. Daystate delta wolf is in the classifieds, and also karma red panda. Any of those will do what you want.
Pistols don’t count!!!A .30 caliber is going to require A LOT of air. How are you going to fill it? You are going to need a tank and a compressor. Will have to budget accordingly.
I agree completely. Life is too short to have only one PCP. I settled on five. And a couple of pistols but they don't count. Really, it's fine. Well I might need one or two more now that I think about it.![]()
That's a super bummer...way to much money to be having leaks so early on. How is their customer service? The mora .25 600mm was my first "premium pcp" (over $2k). I bought it 2 months ago. I did like it a lot at first, but I have a slow leak that developed, i found the gun empty. After refilling it you could hear it leaking down the barrel. Cocked it and dri fired it, that did slow the leak down, but its still leaking. Very slow like 10 bar a day. Im definitely disappointed, I expected better for that price point. That being said the mora has been good until the leak.
I have a few gx pumps i use my gx cs4i with the gx filter.A tank is not "needed", a compressor yes.
I have been eyeballing the western for sure. That’s a tough one rifle do all task. It’s just my opinion but I will never be convinced 30 cal in an airgun is a great choice for deer. 357 min and then you move out of a backyard plinker unless ammo prices aren’t a factor. I think if the focus is medium to larger size game something like the 357 mora or western sidewinder would be sweet.
Yea definitely a bummer, a huge inconvenience. I haven't reached out to rti directly, just the dealer. He said its possibly the valve i think. I need to call back again and see how it will be handled. That's a super bummer...way to much money to be having leaks so early on. How is their customer service?
So you you want a gun that is good for mice (4 FPE) to deer/hog (250 FPE).I will be shooting target and hunting..from mice to white tail deer and hog and it needs to do all I can spend 5k but not 20k I'm thinking a 30 cal. I could be wrong but think fpe for deer in my state is 250.
I think I will invest in two different guns. FYI I do shoot mice with way higher than 4fpe and hog with less than 250. Thanks! So you you want a gun that is good for mice (4 FPE) to deer/hog (250 FPE).
There is no single gun that is capable of that... You need to consider two guns. Get a .22 cal that can be easily adjusted and a .357 and up in caliber if you are wanting into the 250+ range in FPE.
Yes sir. I agree.25 Cal at 68 fpe is enough for javalina and coyote with a well placed head shot.
A cheap small Carbine like the Umarex Notos is perfect for smaller critters, it's .22 cal, light weight and compact, very accurate with cheap Crosman Premier Domes or Hollow points, I shoot lots of Squirrels with mine, or it's big brother the Umarex Zelos in .25 cal, takes down Raccoons nicely, it's got enough power to take a Hog, just some suggestions,I think I will invest in two different guns. What 3 i wonder. One gun to do it all. A nice concept. I’ve got 3 now that I’m happy with and 4 if I count my air pistol. I’m happy now but the rabbit hole runs deep and may exert more undue force to acquire another at some point.
The notos seems to be liked by some people but it's like a young pre I don't know 15yrs old rifle to me . I would instantly out grow it also my hatsan jet fulfills my need for something like a notos. The zelos is a platform I could work with but I feel like it lacks the power that's available in some of the other options. I'm leaning towards a impact or maverick , rti mora, slash in 30cal and for my big power one of the aea models they seem to be king of the big power on a budget . I am appreciating the feedback I'm getting. Its a hard decision and I think it will come down to who has the best costumer service and parts availability. Talon tunes, pellet shop? There's others i don't know about yet I'm sure.A cheap small Carbine like the Umarex Notos is perfect for smaller critters, it's .22 cal, light weight and compact, very accurate with cheap Crosman Premier Domes or Hollow points, I shoot lots of Squirrels with mine, or it's big brother the Umarex Zelos in .25 cal, takes down Raccoons nicely, it's got enough power to take a Hog, just some suggestions,
you can find deals on
just type what you're looking for in search
Well I started with an Aselkon which lasted a little over a year before it started leaking. After discovering there’s literally no support for the USA , I sold it. Not wanting to repeat this scenario , I purchased Fx Impact m3 in 30 caliber. That was followed by a RAW HM 1000 x in 22 caliber. Then my most recent air rifle is a Skout Epoch Compact in 30 caliber. What 3 i wonder.
