+1 for the wireless digital stick on (vibration activated) hour meter. I have the one shown in the pictures attached to my Yong Heng and it seems to be working fine. I have the sensitivity set to Hi. I installed it in 2018 and it is still working (not that many hours on the Yong Heng though). I don't think anyone sells this actual brand anymore, but there are numerous variations of it available on ebay or amazon.

The wired should be simple you just need to find motor wires and splice in i do not know how to young is wired but my gx had bullet connectors already. So all i did was make a 2inch splice with bullet connectors and leads for the hour meter that way i did not have to alter factory wires. I would assume.....the yong has connectors of sorts to wire the motor. Pop the cover and post a pic i can tell you how to wire its pretty simple. With being wired to motor you are only clocking time when motor is running. The water pumps and fans will prolly clock time as the hour meters can be sensitive

I received my Amazon vibration activated hour meter and placed it on my YH compressor. It activated when my compressor was working. It also activated while it sat on the table when my buddy turned on his air compressor. And then it activated while in my truck driving home. Guess I need to rethink this.

Sorry I didn't realize that some may be using the compressor in a more mobile way. My usage of the YH compressor is to refill SCBA tanks. So the compressor just sits in the basement, and I carrying the SCBA tank(s) on the road when needed to refill the airgun.

I am still learning. I have a YH that I will leave set up at home and the vibration type will work on that. I will try the other above suggestion on my air cooled Toauto air cooled for range transport. I appreciate all suggestions and comments.
I found this interesting video of a wired install, if you haven't seen it:

This is the wired hour meter he is using: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XNTBGY3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3H26M0OO8MHA9&th=1

I would probably mount it to a separate faceplate, and attach it externally (similar to what imtrigerhapy did above) vs cutting a hole in my compressor case/cover. However, the installation into the compressor case/cover does look really clean/good, if you are handy with a Dremel.
