Daystate Delta Wolf - Why isn't it more popular?

Been wondering it myself. I own two and can tell you they are great. You can buy a used delta wolf for about the same price as a used ghost. Crazy as you get so much more for your money in the wolf. I think it is mainly due to the electronics in the gun. I think many people are put off by it. They are a great platform. Draw backs are no off switch. You have to rely on the auto power down. Minor nuisance. I am not positive about the battery life on hunting trips. I haven’t had mine out in the field yet. I have owned an epoch as well and can say the delta wolf battery life isn’t nearly as good as that gun. Might be a negative when you have to leave it on for several hours. Other than that they are awesome. They are actually pretty easy to work on too. You have to take care around the wires but the reg and valve are both easily accessible and pretty straight forward to service.

Daystate accessories are beyond ridiculously priced too. However, that isn’t DW specific and the brand is popular so presumably people are buying insane things like a 150 dollar rubber butt pad for an airgun. Lol. I just wish I had an extra 2600 for that blue edition alpha wolf in the classifieds

I have both a Daystate Delta Wolf .177 HP and also the Daystate Alpha Wolf Blue .177 HP 👍🙃🙂

Love both rifles and the ease of tuning 👍🙂🎯

My daughter loves the blue one ! 😃

I've thought about buying one off and on and was starting to consider it again. I hardly see any posts on them good or bad. Why are these rifles not more popular,? Is it the price, performance, or both?
For me, I hear electronics and I'm out. I would think that is the main reason to scare away potential new customers. In addition to the electronics the price.

I loved my custom compact delta wolf. The only real downs I have found with a regular delta wolf are this, small expensive mags, front heavy with the chrono, in advanced mode the chrono is useless, high dollar rifle that is not a slugger unless custom, and needs more factory tunes with so much ammo on the market. They are amazing rifles all the same though.they are also kinda heavy to carry around.

People are scared of the electronic I think. Battery not the best but I don't use mine anyways and it is shut off all the time. I love the action smoothness and the trigger. I get the electronic thing and breaking down but I trust my life everyday to vehicles controlled by electronics. if you are a bullpup person they are great. I'm more of a rifle style guy so might have to try a black wolf or get a red wolf again.

I don't like electric cars either. Dead battery? Walk or don't shoot.

Without electronics, automobiles, planes, trains and sea going vessels 🚢 would be dead in the water. Daystate electronics have be proven for decades now.

They need high capacity magazines. They need folks to understand how to program them (not hard but can be easily done wrong)! They need great barrel, not a crap shoot!

Montster Mags (Monte Shosted) is making great mags now. For those that want to know how to tune these guns, there are resources. Hopefully the barrels get better and more consistent. I believe SubMOA barrels to be really good.

I’m really liking my Delta. Before and after bluing:

But airplanes have back-up systems.
Sure they do and they should it has to do with keeping people alive but for an air gun if it breaks down regardless of electronic or mechanical you're done shooting for that day. Everyone shoots what they have confidence in. I have confidence in my delta

I guess I am the black sheep here....I love electronics and have a Red wolf that I love. So was curious about how cleaning the barrel on a Delta wolf was so watch the video....after the video... NAH!!...not for me lol 🤣 😆....that's was a pain in the a$$ !!! Anything liquid and electronics just don't mix...
What, do you put your barrels in a bath 🛁

Cleaning a Delta, Alpha or Ghost barrel is very simple!

IMHO, the most underrated feature with DW is the FACTORY mode, that uses the chrony feedback into the algorithm to maintain set speed, regardless of temperature, pressure or humidity.

I’ve had my DW in .30 since they first came to the USA in 2021. It still works great, simple to tune, and very accurate with both JSB 50.1 and AEA 50.5.

It’s interesting to me that so many shooters go straight to Advanced mode that bypasses the chrony. In that case, why not just buy a Red Wolf or a Ghost? I shot my DW at EBR 2022 on the first day (Thursday). I was shooting JSB 50.1 at 875 fps. That day was sight in, EFT and Steel Scramble. I shot over 150 shots that day with temperature from cool early AM to very hot mid afternoon. For the entire day, my ES was 6 fps. That’s not a misprint - SIX. The gun maintained speed as designed!

That truly is the best feature of a DW yet the majority of users listen to shooters and influencers and go straight to Advanced mode. Sad…

The gun still shoots accurately and reliably. I’m shooting AEA 50.5 currently at 890 FPS. Just a couple weeks ago I was hunting ground squirrels with @Revoman and @Gerry52. Mike spotted a GS at 155 yards. I was shooting bucket and sticks, Hunter FT style. I dialed up the elevation, steadied the gun, and took the shot. Schwack! 155 yards with a pellet is no joke, yet the DW was up to the task. I looked at the chrony display and it showed 890 fps.
The gun should be more popular than it is…

I have worked on one high power Alfawolf. I had to replace its barrel with FX liner as DS had bad barrel.

It is a great gun and manual tuning gives especially amazing results.

I don't prefer electronics.

The other reason I don't buy it is this that DS doesn't help out in my country in case of some issues. While on the other hand even if FX has no dealer in my country, they somehow manage to send me whatever goes South.

Just curious what your minimum reg pressure is to push the 50 gr at 890 ? Just curious as mine I believe may be the first 30 that I’ve owned that prefers jsb 50 over 44.75. I shoot them at about 860 at 150 bar. Haven’t tried upping the speed yet so that is why I ask.

Barrel cleaning is actually really easy. Just the same as any barrel. Every so often I pop three orings, lift the chrono board up and clean the sensors and windows for the sensors in the barrel with a q tip. The chrono itself is protected from whatever you use to clean the barrel unless like said above you dunk the whole barrel in it. Small price to pay for what the on board chrono offers.

I see you deleted the chrono also, definitely the way to go.
