I started with a tank and scuba shop for my air. I do not recommend this route. They will likely charge you a flat rate for a fill regardless of how much air is actually added. Mine charged $25 per fill! And it's just a hassle, even with the shop nearby.

My enjoyment of this hobby doubled after getting a compressor, as my stress over my air supply disappeared. A tank is still a great idea though! Just ditch the dive shop.
I just found a scuba shop 30 mins that will fill 1.6L for $8 How low can you go before you need to refill tank? 1500 psi? Or do you go by bars?

That's a much better price, but it doesn't erase the hassle. Trust me on this, and my dive shop is less than 10 minutes away, open 6 days a week. Having your own compressor is way better, assuming you get a good quality one.

Basically, you can go until the tank pressure is equal to your gun's regulator setting, at the extreme. I would refill when the tank pressure was equal to my gun's max fill pressure.

Now with my own compressor, I top off the tank whenever I want, especially before going to the range. Pure luxury.

Oh thank you for adding to your explanation if 5 to 6 pounds seems heavy. I would definitely say try the jet one. I have one. You only really get about 14 shots per fuel, but the tank is very small only 40 cc so if you get a tank to refill it you probably get 20 or 25 refills all the way to 250 bar. It’s super light it comes with sides. It is very easy to put a small or medium size coat or a red dock. It also comes with two magazines and a single shot price. I got mine doing a sale for about $100 but look around there’s other options coming up all the time.

Well I figured that pistol would be much easier to handle one handed 🤔. Thanks for sharing 👍👍

Well…I don’t think I will be target shooting or burning 50 rounds a day. Besides… if I get hooked and go down that rabbit hole I’ll get compressor like you. The bottle will add convenience 😊👍😊

My go to squirrel rifle is my Avenge-X in .22, as for optics I went with a Discovery Opt 2-12x, Look up a review on it on YT, and there should be a 10% discount code in the description. As for extra magazines, they use the same mags as a Benjamin Marauder and Umarex Gauntlet 1/2, But I'd also check out qd_fox, His after market mags are better and tougher than OEM.

What pistol would you recommend for 25-30 yards, and able to use one hand only?

I don't have any pcp pistols. However, I often put my rifles on a BOG Deathgrip, you can find them on Amazon or eBay. BOG also has something called an XSR that you can also put on a tripod. It literally slips into the bog tripod, and you can set a rifle on the shooting rest, and you have a good stable shooting platform. I see some putting an arca rail onto an MLOK slot, and shoot from the same tripod attachment as a camera or spotting scope. I tend to put my off-hand just on the butt stock, so it doesn't do much of anything, the stability comes from the shooting bag/deathgrip/ ballhead attachment. So with that, I'd think doing it one handed would be fine.

That sounds kool but in my case I have to stand up and shoot out the door. 🤣. Now if I had “retractable windows “ and a tripod, I could just sit in my chair with tripod in front and squirrels wouldn’t have a chance! 😄👍🤔

I had a friend named Lance
He was a great friend. He was in a car accident , and broke his neck then he got his arm caught in a auger where worked. Lost it just below the elbow. Anyway I learned to do things for him by using 1 arm . It was quite a learning experience. I then taught him to tie his shoes ,
Roll a bugler smoke ect. All with one hand. I'm trying to think about how it would be to use just one hand for a airgun. I think I could use my Sig M17 with one hand. Let me try to do it tomorrow. Loading the 20 and mag, and putting the CO2 cartridge in.
If I can do it with one hand then you can. I'll be in touch tomorrow to see how it goes , but I'm pretty sure it can be done. Until then have a good one .

In that case, maybe get a Umarex Notos, and get Buck rail's AR conversion kit

Get a mil spec carbine buffer tube, a castle nut, and ar15 compatible grip, and then get a a pistol brace, such as the sba3

After that, I'd say just a red dot and you're good to go

the bigger the bottle the less you need it filled and as you say if you go down the (rabbit hole) you will need it. Welcome aboard.
