Hi Everyone,
I will try to keep it short. 😊
Typically use my break barrel rifle( .22 cal pellet )to keep the squirrel population under control; however, my brain got zapped by a stroke back in May and have temporarily loss function of my (dominant) right arm & hand 🤣. My pump pistol has my leg all bruised and is a single shot. A PCP is what I’m thinking I need. Max distance should be in the neighborhood of 30-35 yds.
I need it to be plug & play and low maintenance as much as possible.
Here’s the present idea:

1. Diana Bandit .177 -EDIT - I will be using while standing at back door and steady pistol against left door jamb. Maybe carbine when I get better 😄

2. Red Dot Optic - The 11 mm dovetail should make it plug and play

3. Scope - I really like zooming in but never had one on a pistol - don’t even know if it would fit and work well. Really need help here

I don’t know anything about the Bandit, but since you have a .22 breakbarrel you probably already have a lot of pellets for it.
So I’d go with a Notos, just a fraction more expensive, but a lot more adjustability and a much better platform than a ‘pistol with a stock’. (but the standard magazine that comes with it is utter trash, so do get some 3d printed ones!)
Add to that a cheap ‘bugbuster’ scope (Victoptics Cerato for example) and Bob’s your uncle!

DOT certified bottles are pricey but if you have a reasonable place to get one filled it could be a decent option. Filling a gun is very quiet with a bottle and the only effort is opening and closing the valve. But running a CS3 requires little effort too but there are more steps. The GX compressors are relatively quiet but not nearly as quiet as the bottle.

I use this as my workhorse but I fill it myself, usually from my non DOT 6.8l tank. Havent ran my pumps in 2 months. Kinda small but good for a days shooting (500+ rounds)

Conrad - sorry to hear about your recent incident and wish you a speedy recovery.

If you had a break-barrel prior, then it seems you had nominal 12ft-lb gun (?). For ease of use and convenience it seems to me, a CO2 gun may be the best option; if staying under 30 yards. It's just hard to beat the convenience and finding the cartridges is like purchasing gasoline (at least in this area). Just my two cents worth - Good Luck.

This is what I was thinking if was basic neighborhood squirrel control and ease of use is paramount. Too bad the 850 is discontinued. Was an excellent CO2 gun and easily transformed to HPA. A nice QB78 would fit the bill as well, but I guess those are now under 'Beeman' brand. Cant speak to others and dont know how the newer QB's compare.

How are you doing, brother? I’m also a disabled sure. Yes, like you though. I do get to use brake barrel it does get hopefully hard with you only have one hour in my case. I only have my left arm and I used to be right arm and right eye dominant. Based on my experience and have own several DCP rivals, I think it’s an entry level rifle. The best deal right now would be on a Pinty bull pop or a beeman they have good selection on both of those brands and either regular rifles or both I myself should be with my left hand it being right Dublin prefer the ball but if you’re gonna be shooting from a bench, it doesn’t really matter. You normally get a little bit more shots out of his other rifle but nowadays whether you buy a ball or a rifle you’re gonna get at least 50 shots the rest of the equipment that you’re thinking of sounds very good to me. I found a PCP to be much easier to shoot than any brick barrel or CO2. I would say if you only shooting 20 to 30 yards a scope with 2 to 12 or 4 to 16 it’s all you need plus if you ever think of actual hunting there a lot easier here to live with but again if you’re shooting from a table something that goes up as much as 24 hour it’s good to have or if you just planning a bunch of paper you don’t need a scope. Something from PD or another one of those Amazon brands will do you pretty good and if you order it from Amazon if you don’t like it, you can just send it back if you have any more questions or you wanna tell us more about the connection you’re actually gonna do please post it and I’ll be more than happy to answer any questions that I might be able to

Hello Sir Thanks for the information and support 😄👍👍. I guess I will edit my original post to indicate that I plan on standing when shooting and will be using the pistol configuration of the gun. Sorry for the lack of clarity 🤣🤣. Thanks again!

I started with a tank and scuba shop for my air. I do not recommend this route. They will likely charge you a flat rate for a fill regardless of how much air is actually added. Mine charged $25 per fill! And it's just a hassle, even with the shop nearby.

My enjoyment of this hobby doubled after getting a compressor, as my stress over my air supply disappeared. A tank is still a great idea though! Just ditch the dive shop.
