is the phone mount of the sideshot as good as the GoPro? Digital scopes are not legal in my state.

The phone one is pretty big, maybe go pro if you have one. I borrowed a phone one for a bit. Then I just bought a digital scope that my state technically doesn't like either. I just pop the ir illumnator diode and lense out and go on my way if I'm going to see the game warden.

My first venture was a pard nv007 because it's not a rifle scope. It's a monocular that just so happens to come with collets that fit your scopes eyepiece, and it sees ir.
The footage was good, the eye piece screen was not the greatest resolution, now I just use it as a monocular. It has a nice fast sneaky twist lock to remove the camera too.

Yeah there is a big problem with the Firearm Code and now the Air Rifle Codes not being the same and since I use my guns for hunting the regulations are rough to navigate. No computer aided devices is how the law reads in the regulation manual. All digital scopes and IR whether or not could possibly be illegal. I am assuming that might even include range finders. SOOO Stupid! Ethical Clean Hunting is being punished for the Poachers.

I haven't seen the sideshot but as far as clarity it's pretty good, alot of it depends on lighting especially for slow motion vids I do alot of.
One reason I like the tacticam is it will record @ 240 frames per second, if you record with less fps like 30fps you can get much higher resolution up to 4k.

a GoPro is a camera not a digital scope . what if you put a 35MM SLR Nikon side shot > or an old Polaroid ? OR an Iphone camera ?
Now a thermal imaging scope does not project any light onto the target it only detects heat .
