That's my experience in Louisiana. We had beagle dogs and hunted rabbits Oct-Feb and even in Oct, you would occasionally find one with parasite infections after cleaning them. You do not want to eat any bunnies that have white liver spots as this can be a carrier of tularemia which is bad news.

Nice shooting! Just a reminder as Im sure you already know those are jacks/hares and they can have a parasite sack that can be serious to humans. So take great care if you decide to eat them.
