Skout Everything Skout EVO and Epoch

Ok i shot a few pellets today and i am now out of JTS since my order has not arrived.
After a very long and tiresome clean of the barrel with a copper brush a little bit of roblar and balistol oil, these are the types of groups i am getting at 58 yards with little to medium wind on a makeshift bench.
I am finishing a proper bench to take to the range on Wednesday to continue my testing.
The targets are from olympic 10m air rifle shooting and their overall diameter is 4.5 cm or 1.78 inches.
It took over 100 pellets for the barrel to start grouping again after the clean and average speed was 975 fps.
I ran a dry bore snake throught it a few times after todays shoot.
Assuming i receive my pellets by Wednesday i will try all of your lower speed suggestions.
The only pellets i have left now are jsb jumbo monster exact 25.39 gr.

Well…. Found a new tiny leak that I fixed.
Didn’t know it was leaking there until it was bad enough that I noticed it and it wasn’t a place that you would typically think leaks, but it was actually the fill probe nipple.
I depressurized my gun and took a little guy off and the little O-ring Inside was all chewed up, probably from repeated fills..
So this is probably a source that people need to keep on their radar. If you’re not having any luck keeping your gun gassed over a couple days.

I had the same leak only mine was not sitting properly at all and all the air rushed out the tank after the fill.
Scary when you are new to this and have no idea what's causing it!
It was on my second fill of the gun,it seems that the internal screw that holds it in place had backed out.

Thanks a bunch for the clarity!
I have been searching for a leak for months after resealing both regs, the valve, the 2 O-Rings on the solenoid, tightening the solenoid screws, and the 2 O-Rings on the shut-off valve to no avail.
This may be the only item other than the small O-Ring on the shut off valve (that I cannot remove) that could leak.
THANK YOU!

mike

That’s it in the picture.
I believe it’s a 004 O ring if I’m not mistaken.

SAE 005 is most common on these type foster fills (y)

The SK-FLT103 part

ita a filter that was recently replaced with a brass part. Original one I believe was some type of filter material and it wasn’t perfectly flat on the bottom and they said it could be a potential for a leaky area….. I replaced mine, but I also tried to see if the original could be flattened , and it was really easy. Just running it over some 400g sandpaper completely removing the small burr that was their originally probably causing it not to be flat.

Was a running update on EPOCH's .... as we had HP regulator venting issues that rear seat with the integral basket was replaced by 2 parts that still did the same thing, but due to the internal o-ring used going to a quad ring the basket/filter was made as separate parts having replacement access to said o-ring a lot easier.

But it only seems to exist on the epoch reg and the screw on cap seems looks shorter.
Took my HP reg apart to clean up and check last night and didn't notice any part like you're describing?

Typical, so why don't they update their website?
Been though my HP reg again, and it's fine cannot find any reason for the slight drop in power, but as per usual as soon as I start working on it, first the bleed valve starts to leak and the bottle valve O ring goes, I then took the spool valve apart and enlarged the closing jet, but once all back together the only difference I can see is now the LP reg pressure has risen from 150psi to 165psi and I detect no change in the firing note that Motorhead described, and no change in constancy these guns just seem very unpredictable it can be good and consistent one minute and jumping about the next O well back to the drawing board, perhaps my quest for single figure FPS is just a dream with this gun.

I hear you, just got back from the range. I had run out of jts and used jsb 25.39 gr deep.200 pellets later i never got any grouping worth while with flyers everywhere, sometimes i could actually see the pellets spiraling in the scope!
I tried all sorts of speeds from as low as 820 to 970 to no avail.
I just can't get this gun to group again and it started leaking again while filling it up the last time.
Now i have to start stripping everything again to see what the problem is, that is just NOT ok for a 1.5 month old rifle!

Mine is sub 12 so has given me a lot of problems, I tried two of the Skout barrels but gave up and bought a Lothar Walther blank and machined to fit and this sorted my accuracy problems, but I have since been pursuing single figure FPS with no success, I get close, and then it all goes pear shaped, and I have to start over again, I have done quite a few modifications and although some have helped in the long run it just doesn't seem to stick, I am now thinking of getting some new regs especially since they have been updated as I always get quite a lot of creep that last for 5-10 shot before settling down but leave it for five mins and its creeping again, I am getting near then end with this rifle and thinking of selling as it just doesn't perform as advertised.

I totaly agree with you and I haven't even gone through a third of the trouble you have gone through.
I got it to shoot well in the begining and a week later all the problems started, with leaks and regulator problems.Mine came with a Lothar Walther barrel so i dont know what else I must do.Contacting Skout via email is a complete hit and miss setup, sometimes they answer, most of the time nothing.
I am at a loss for words here and I should not have to be doing all this technical stuff in order to get a very expensive airgun to work properly.
I was hopping that someone in the forum would be able to shed some light, but every case is different and one can not diagnose a problem this way.
If i lived in the states I would have sent it back to Scout by now!
