Well, if you guys have been following my Mora adventure, you know that I've been chasing and flirting with the very best targets I've ever shot. I was able to shoot a very good 50yd 250 a month or two ago and since then have put up a couple more at that range and a plethora of 249's. At first this was as surprising to me as it might be to anyone that reads it as such scores at 25 yards have become common place but at 50 yards remain reasonably rare. However, I'm not really a 50 yard shooter. I shoot 50 whenever a competition comes around in my area, but I really don't travel far to shoot the regional N50 matches because it's just not really my thing. 100 yards is where my interest lies and has been for the last 10 years and during that time I've seen immense growth and evolution in PCP airgun development. When I signed on to shoot with Skout I began thinking that I may actually have a chance to accomplish my main ultimate goal, which is to shoot well and stand on a podium at one of the majors. That has yet to happen, however, my secondary goad has always been to do what I thought might be the impossible, shoot a 250 and 25x's at 100 yards. Pretty lofty I know, but I know it will be done sooner or later until circumstances make it impossible for me to do so, I'm going to keep chasing that unicorn.
A couple of weeks ago I posted up a 247 with a whole punch of X's, 17 I believe and let me tell you, I was over the moon about that which for me was a major accomplishment and big step towards that goal I mentioned. Well, today I took another step and although unlike the last time, there is no video for this, it was just a relaxed practice day, I offer you this evidence for what it's worth. These 4 targets (2 on each card) were shot as usual at my indoor 100 yd range in 94°F conditions. I was sweatin' like a marathon runner in Death Valley....LoL.. Once again, this my .25 caliber
RTI Mora Sniper shooting
AEA 29.5 Center Punch pellets at 978.5 fps with a SD of 2.8 and a BC of 0.071 over 25 shots. (
no sighters as THE ONE was the 4th target in the series).
Please believe me when I tell you that
all of this I credit to the gun/pellet combination. I've been at this a long time now, and nothing else in my experience has even approached this type of accuracy. Sure, I do practice a lot but I always have, but nothing until now has produced the types of repeatable results as this combo.
