N/A Rti p3 performance vs AGT uragan 3

Hopefully I can get some input from guys who have owned either of these, but opinions without are cool too. I am interested in getting a solid, reliable and accurate high power slug shooter in 22 cal with these two being my top choices. I want to shoot 30+ grain slugs in the mid to high 900s fps, with a respectable shot count (50+ shots would be nice) . It will not be a bench gun whatsoever, it will be a pest hunting gun and so durability as well as a solid barrel that won't lose poi with a little banging around are a must. These two choices seem to fit the bill the closest, with a top contender behind them being the Krait X . What are your guys thoughts on these platforms for my use? Are my expectations reachable from these guns? If you have owned either itd be great to hear your pros and cons.

Not sure about the U3, I had the U2 .22 the 700mm came to me shooting 25gr around 940fps and I got around 130 shots per fill. The U3 has a more efficient regulator and valve cycle , when I set my U2 to push 30gr at 940fps I was still getting like 70+ shots I'm sure the U3 would get more shots and can push that power at less reg pressure.

I got both (U3 .22 600mm and P3 .25), and I love both. The U3 is set to shoot 23gr slugs at 955, I think I set the reg at around 125?! Shot count somewhere around 100ish from 300b I think but never took a proper count. The P3 is currently set to “low power” and shooting 25gr at 900 (reg at 93b), feels like endless shots but is a .25 anyway. Both are easily more accurate than I am. I think with your goals as to power and shot count, you have to go with the 700mm U3. That would make it a long gun though, so take that into account. Other than that the P3 is easier to adjust since everything is external. Ergonomics I like the U3 better. You can’t go wrong with either though and the P3 will run you a little less $…

I've got a U2 600 .22 that shoots 25.5 slugs at 990-1000fps. It gets easily 70+ shots per fill (300bar). I use it for pesting like you. I this its quiter then the RTI with the shroud mod. Its not really that light. Its been really reliable.
You can see it here:

The RTI is similar to the uragan, but it has an external regulator. Its easier to tune then the uragan, that has to be degassed and dissasembled to reach the regulator. I dont know how reliable the RTI is, but it has a good rep around here. My Guess is that the uragan is quiter but the RTI might be lighter.

You'll be great with either. Its more a matter of estetics and price really...

I miss my U2, although I wished I had gotten the 600mm for the .22 instead of the 700mm.

Man, don’t wanna sidetrack this chain because it has specific goals, but the u3 .22 600mm is killer. Sitting for a week, pick it up and shoot a 40 shot string with 1.5 SD… Laser accurate, more efficient and a bit more stable strings than the U2, otherwise like the u2 (meaning all the things you loved about the u2 are still there). Only question is whether it’s worth the $600-700 difference between the two :)

Remember, it's only a seven hundred dollar difference because we bought the U2 from Krale on sale lol. But my Krait L shoots with the SD ES just like your U3 just not as powerful.

Appreciate all who have given feedback! It helps very much in being able to decide which platform to go for. It also makes it hard as it sounds like both are truly awesome. Realistically, 34 grain slugs in .22 are what I would want to shoot, and sounds as if both the p3 and U3 are capable of pushing that weight with good efficiency even in 600mm barrel. Im ultimately going to go with whatever slug shoots most accurate between 25-34 grains , likely won't go heavier but just wanted to know the capabilities. Right now its kind of a toss up, as a like the weight, simplicity and external reg adjustment on the p3, but the ergonomics and performance of the U3 are hard to pass up. Currently I have an Evol standard (15") in .22 that has been my slug shooter for awhile using 21 gr javelin at 950. It is an absolute laser and just yesterday helped me take out 108 ground squirrels as far as 160ish yards..but, shot count is not high(understandably) and 21 grains can be a bit tricky in wind at times and that platform is maxed out. Being able to stretch out with bigger slugs more confidently would be great for those longer shots and windy days.

I have a P3 with the 600mm RPB barrel and I shoot up to 42g slugs out of it accurately. I get 967fps average with the H&N 33g precision slugs at around 145 bar and get over 70 shots per fill at 285 bar. It shoots most slugs very well but is exceptional with these. I take 150 yard varmint shots and further with this rig. The bullpup size is great for hunting. I put a FORM wooden grip on it for better control.

Something I forgot to ask, being that the U3 reg is internal how hard is it to disassemble and change settings?
Not hard, just annoying, in particular without a reg tester. Take it out of the stock, degas (full degas, meaning bottle empty…), take shroud and bottle of, unscrew cap of housing with the reg in it. Done, you can now take the reg out, adjust and put it back together. All in all probably 15min. But then full refill, test and cross your fingers… if not good, same thing again :)

You’re on the other side of the country, otherwise I would have said stop by and shoot both :)

those are crazy good numbers. I have a mora in .22 and with the 600mm, mostly shooting the 33gr precision at 980 and the 34gr hp at 970 (both .217) with the reg at 152 and I get 60ish got shots out of the mora. And the mora has a 700cc bottle as opposed to a 500cc on the p3, plus you can adjust the valve to not waste the tiniest bit of air…

In the U2 its not really hard, just a bit time consuming because you have to degas and you dont really know what bar you are setting it to. The regulator is really good on these guns, but its really sensitive, 1/4 of a turn makes a big difference.
That said, when you find a good tune, it stays rock solid. Sometimes I spend a lot of time without touching the gun and the first shot comes out perfect every time.

@greenbeans - I forgot that I put a 580cc bottle on my P3. I have the orginal 500 and both have the valves in them for a "pressured" swap. Adjusting the hammer strike on the P3 to start the valve takes a little tinkering but still is easy to get the gun to max power and still sip air. I must say that I have an AGT Vulcan 3 .30 that gets a lot of shots for a 285 bar fill and I would think the U3 would be even better.

@Bladebum - you really can't go wrong with either. It takes a bit more time to adjust the AGT, but once you have it down it's very straight forward (the Vulcan being more effort than the U2/U3) and as @MJMDP said, the tune stays solid. I will say that with the RTI RBP barrell, it is one of the very few guns that actually does well with both pellets and slugs.

Yup, the easiest way to bypass having to degas the whole system is to get a buddy bottle and buddy valve and put it on the gun when tuning the regulator sub12airgunner did this in one of his videos @Bladebum
