Ok Mike,
Finally got enough nerve today to shoot the FX Boss .30 at my 100Y outdoor range. The targets look like ‘Shotgun Willie’ was out with a scatter gun.
Wind was 3-7 mph; lots of tail winds and cross winds. One flag at 25Y from bench.
I started out and shot 3 rows with AEA 50.1g
FX Boss ST .30 caliber
Accu-Tac BiPod ( forgot my Leofoto TriPod)
Sightron 10x50x 60 2FP, Mildot
Rear ProtekTer bag
AEA 50.1g and 45G pellets
1675
1650
1175
AEA 45G:
1500
1525
1675
A little reflection here: The Boss really jumps quite a bit. The TriPod is much more stable, so that hurt my technique not having it today.
Wind Reading: Below average. I missed having 2nd far flag, but I’m really rusty. Plus, I suck too at 100Y wind reading. I did notice in some of the better higher scoring bulls, I had a light wind condition and could use my same hold for all 5 shots. Then, the story changed on the next adjacent bulls.
Rifle hold - I can’t determine if this rifle likes a medium to firm hold vs. light hold and letting it recoil.
It’s still fun, but the Annie .22 LRs put a smile on my face for this challenge.
