FX Maverick Barrel Mod

Hello all, i've been busy but got to shooting again now that it is summer. My .25cal Maverick is trusty but having noticed the barrel band I bought may be changing the POI as the bottle itself could be shifting. I saw HumaAir's barrel tension kit but once I installed it, the rifle was 5 times louder without the shroud, boo.
So then defeated, I put the factory one back and played with a carbon fiber tube over the shroud, cutting it to size. The small gap I left was a perfect fit for an o-ring against the Sumo. The result was actually a noticable increase amount of stiffness/reduced play. Tube was purchased at Amazon.

I have other ideas too but had to stop for the time being.

I'm a touched confused, the shroud isn't touching anything is it? I too have used a o-ring at the moderator, keeps the nasty stuff pointed away from me. I've got two Mavericks a .22 compact and a .25 VP, the Compact was working great then started giving me fits, I scrubbed the straw, gave it a bit of bees wax, then tuned the snot out of it, literally. 1.2sd perfect speed for 21.x gr AEA's and insane tight groups at 25 yards. My .25, went out for ground squirrels today, literally after over a month, took it out of the case shoved in some 30.x AEA slugs and was zero at 100 yards, missed the damn squirrel but that was my fault. The next one wasn't so lucky. All that said, you do not want to bind the barrel, it needs to resonate. Messing with that messes with its POA/POI.

Shroud is screwed onto the end of the barrel's metal cover so yes. If you see the shroud moving the barrel is too. I haven't shot mine yet since the mod last night.
