I'm mean to Ebay Counterfeiters. Over the years, I've ordered several VXIII or Mark 4 scopes on Ebay knowing they had to be fake. First clue, too cheap. Second clue, shipping out of China not Oregon. Once in hand I call up Leupold and check out the scope's serial number. When it comes back as not one of theirs, I request a text or Email. Once that's in hand, I fill out a PayPal request saying the advertised product was not delivered and is a counterfeit attaching my email from Leupold as proof. Ebay could care less, but PayPal shuts them down and refunds my money. I then crush it in a hydraulic press and attach that video to my seller's feedback. It took a while but I really put a dent in the counterfeit operations on Ebay's counterfeit Leupold Scopes.
My BS detector would have went off prior to clicking the link, it is a targeted scam ad on FB, like all the other ads on the internet...Being the pattern seeking human that I instinctually am, my b*llsh*t detector went off as soon as I saw that every single scope on the linked page was 79% off.
I just saw another ad for Vortex having a huge sale-all scopes with 80% mark downs. I didn't click on it, I reported it as false advertising-but I don't think that will put a dent in their nefarious activities. My BS detector would have went off prior to clicking the link, it is a targeted scam ad on FB, like all the other ads on the internet...
I think someone said you shouldn't click on random links before and you said they are not random, which is even more reason NOT TO CLICK.
An even bigger issue is counterfeit products where a major online retailer couldn't care less that they are fully enabling and profiting from illegal product cloning (cough Amazon cough).

Is there a knife thread? If not, we should start one.I have a bit of a Spyderco collection.
I just looked... there are no "off-topic" sections in the forum? Pity. As you said... gun people are often knife people... also watch people... flashlight people... basically we like all kinds of things. It's fun to discuss our other common interests (and increases forum participation).
Off topic (non Airgun) threads are permitted under the SOCIAL forum.
It’s a mystery thread and is something we are referred to and nobody uses.Aha! I didn't see that before. I looked under the forum list and didn't see anything. Now I see it's an option on the top menu.
Thanks.
ETA: I just went there. No threads. Just profile status updates. I was looking for a place to post off-topic threads.... like "Show us your knives," for example. Oh well. I guess not. Thanks anyway.
Are there not Knife forums?
Have a look at this Leupold @Florida_ManLeupold Doesn’t seem to have an interest in short range optics (parallax down to 10y) if they ever do I might look at them. But until that ever happens, plenty of other good stuff out there.
I’ll look used, it shows as a discontinued model for new stock.Have a look at this Leupold @Florida_Man

This Leupold scope has two strikes against it.
Leupold must think that the guns that this scope gets mounted on have NO bullet drop....:
Because:
➊ They put caps on the turrets (an indirect message to the user: "These turrets are not made for constant dialing!")
➋ They only offer a plain reticle with NO hashlines or mildots to make compensations.
For me as an airgunner that's a hard pass.
Because my pellets have a lot of drop — and I need to compensate for that.

Unfortunately, some people simply lack the ability to sense that they are being duped. For example, I have a friend with cancer and has had several strokes who was told by several highly competent friends that he was being scammed when he got a warning message about his bank account being frozen due to unpaid taxes. He just wouldn't listen to reason and ended up having to go to the bank to change all of his passwords, pin #'s, etc due to giving out private information to a nefarious enterprise of some sort that preys on the weak and infirm. These ads offering ridiculous mark downs must be successful to a certain extent because of people like my friend who have cognitive issues due to health problems. Plus, people who aren't into our hobby, may have relatives and/or friends that want to buy them a present but are clueless about how much quality products really cost. Yes, I agree I tend to lack compassion for those of us with healthy brains who get duped by these asshats. But make no mistake, none of us are immune to being duped at some point in our lives...how many people have said, "I do," thinking that they were entering into a "happily ever after," life only to find out once they said those magic words, their partner's panties suddenly got super glued to her butt.I really have a hard time feeling sorry for anyone who falls for such an obvious scam... 80% off?!?? LOL! Anyone who believes they can get an optic for 80% off... well... "a fool and his money...."
