Crosman Can you name any of else 2240 modifications?

Buy a 2240 that been modified. Kind of like a surprise package b/c I don't know what is inside.

Can anyone tell me what they know about the modifications to the pictured 2240?

There is no front sight so it has a 11mm rail ? and a steel breech? I think? Can you buy a 1911 a1 grip frame or did someone just put 1911 grips on it?

Trigger looks altered, a trigger shoe maybe. I am a collector more than shooter, so I don't have experience with these air pistols. Does it have an adjustable hammer spring just below the bolt? Any help offered will be great, thank you.

I think you should sell it to someone that will use it,as it is not a collectable ,but a much modified 2240,many changes to it...go look look at a stock 2240 and you will see a lot of changes to the one you have, different lower frame is the main one. Looks to have a power adjuster....
$99.95is that why you bought it? How long you been a vinage air gun collector? What is you goal ,I just am curious,as most of my old cousins have many air guns over 60=70 years old ,they have not used for over 50years or more, that goes for shotguns and .22 rimfire also.....

Thanks for confirming the frame is an add on mod that mimic a 1911 a1. Also glad to hear -- Looks to have a power adjuster...
It will be fun to shoot; it seems lots of people "they have not used for over 50years or more" . . . so are any of them rare airguns?
I am looking for Hy-score branded Hammerli airguns if your cousin has any HS --see if they want to sell them?
Again, thanks for your help. Take care my friend.

The grip frame was made by Blue Fork Design, now defunct. Their frames allowed for AR15 grips to be used. An AR15-1911 adapter grip allowed the 1911 grips to be used. So it’s rare in that sense because you can’t get these Blue Fork frames anymore.
The breech with left hand bolt is an aftermarket breech as well. It might be an aluminum breech.
Yes that is a power adjuster in the back and a trigger shoe on the trigger. The picatinny deal on the side maybe a home drew item someone cobbled together.

You’re probably right. Blue Fork was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it
I remember now that there was something very similar that was being sold on eBay awhile back. Might be this frame mentioned in this thread.

That was my thought, vaguely remembering that item you’ve just link, thank you, hence I was curious of the material 👍
