How many use the Zulus for...

Just wondering if anyone in here uses the Zulus, Or a Pard for that matter (smaller day/night optic) either 3-12 or 5-20, etc etc, as a dedicated Range optic?
I'm just wondering if I should keep it on all the time. I guess I'm probably so old-school I find it kind of foreign still..
So, Those that keep it on a target/range only rifle?
Those that hunt, I get it.. I'd just keep it there as well.

I've never owned the Pard but have heard good things about them. Nice to know the Zulus edges them out in that aspect.
Do you do much shooting at 100 Yards plus? Wondering if it's okay there too. I haven't tried yet.

Im using a Sightmark Wraith mini 4k 2-16 power day and night on my Airforce Condor...I love the scope...The FFP Mil Recticle is useable for the ranges i shoot at.. The size and weight are awseome...I like the base of 2x for airguns for sure...I have a 4x wraith and while a great target scope,,useless at short ranges...I bought my mini used for $250.00 on ebay couldnt be happier..My Airforce rigs chew up regular day optics ...These Sightmark Wraiths are more durable than day scopes on my Airforce Rigs...I think they have double recoil or something...

Interesting. I've never heard of dual recoil from anything other than a springer.

@brawler1588 may have some distance pics he can share.

I'm more of an optics person and I like a min 20x for 100yard use. Wish I could go further, but that's my limit right now.

My zulus is the only optic my 700mm impact uses now. 2 of my buddies also use zulus as their dedicated optic, one on a raw 22 and the other on a dreamline 25.

My pard is an adapter (nv007?) style not a whole scope, before I disparage something I don't own.

I have a DNT Zulus ZHD312R mounted on my Notos. I also have a DNT TNC635R mounted on my Leshiy 2. I like them both and wouldn't change either of them. They replaced an Element Helix and a Oneleaf.ai Commander NV100 Plus. The Element and Oneleaf.ai are now collecting dust in my closet.

I own a Zulus HD 5-20 with a range finder mounted on a 308 Texan. The Zulus serves as an excellent day and night scope. Previously, I used an Athlon Optics Argos BTR GEN8-34x56 Riflescope - APM F IR MIL, which now remains stored in its case. The video was from 2024 early spring from 100 yards.

My .510 Texan has a really big spring with heavy hammer that hits valve than a 650 grain slug or 1.5 once has recoil.. It eats scopes...Digital scopes much more reliable...Im old i never would of thought lol..My Airforce Condor have heavy springs and 110 gram hammers doug noble valve...I have lots of vibrations...Only downfall to Sightmark Wraith Mini is i have to run external USB battery pack...It uses CR123 batterys....Im not buying those...In the future id like a zulus or similar with rangefinder and ballistics..

I have my Zulus on the Leshiy Classic and it makes for a nice package.

It does take a little bit to get used to the functions of the optic, but once you do it is a breeze to do at night. I was worried about the IR illuminator but after using it for a while I have zero complaints! Just make sure you have a few batteries when you go out.

i have 4 of the non-LRF versions and they are on dedicated hunters. the reason i have that many is because my eye sight is not good, no !
but its the best thing i have found since i learned to shoot left handed....not by choice of course. and found out i should have been a lefty my whole life.
as for ranging my shots, i do that with a leica handheld unit i have had for a few years.
yall know i dont shoot paper, just critters :sneaky:

I am trying to live with a 3-12 Zulus on my .30. But in the daylight even at 6X zoom, it’s worse than the cheapest scope. I was swapping back and forth with my Athlon but for the time being because the range finder feature is dialed in, I’m trying to stick with it. If this gun wasn’t a night gun, there is no way I could live with it over a conventional scope.

I have a Zulus 5-20 LRF. I use it to hunt with day and night and that’s where it shines for me. Animals are crisp, especially at night. Also, I mount a One Leaf torch because it’s a much smoother night image with it as compared to the one on the Zulus. As soon as I use it to shoot paper further than 30-40 yards, the targets are very grainy. Anything with sharp edges is pretty pixelated. It seems to me it’s only intended to be zeroed on paper. I swap it out for a Bushnell 5-30 when I’m shooting targets. Big difference in image quality.

To be fair, my eyes aren’t what they used to be but a buddy with the same scope has the same issues. His mounted on a Sidewinder and mine on a Taipan V2T.

Hello,

I had the new alpex light for two weeks now, but i go back to the zulus 3-12 for rathunting., The night image is better on the zulus then the alpex. And also i don' t like the menu structure. Also as you look through the oculair you must take off the rubber eyepiece otherwise you miss 25 procent of you view! If you change from day to night for example, you must change the light brightness and contrast.
If i give it number its a 8 for the zulus and a 7 for the alpex light.
