N/A What air pistol do you use for pest control?

I'd say that the pistol with the WIDEST capability for pest control has to be the GK1 because of two factors: (1) Power range from about 6 ft-lbs to about 60 ft-lbs. (You can get 80 ft-lbs but every shots drops in speed pretty quickly.) (2) Accuracy. I saw one owner posting MOA groups at 100 yards in the .22 caliber. This is 'ridiculous' capability.

Other advantages include:
(1) Can be set up as a pistol with iron sights all the way to a carbine with a scope. The flexibility is unmatched, and the power/accuracy merits a carbine/scope setup. It really feels like a two-in-one PCP - pistol and rifle.
(2) Semi-auto, so your follow-up shots are very quick.

The primary drawback is cost. But there's nothing else like it.

The Huben is a great pistol, but if cost is not a concern, you may want to consider the Western Mordax. It comes with a detachable stock and a detachable 15 round magazine. The Huben magazine is fixed and is a little more difficult to load. If you are in the mid-range in cost, the HW44 by Weihrach is an excellent choice. Powerful and accurate. If want more details on the Mordax, take a look at this thread:

Just checked out the Mordax. Looks fascinating, especially the promise of SUB MOA. (Anyone confirm this is actually so in real life?) Anyways, my issue with the Mordax is that the air supply lasts only 7 shots at 45fpe. The GK1 can do a whole 17 shots at that no issues. Probably a bit more. But Mordax that is SubMOA? That is impressive is true. I don't think GK1 on average is even close to MOA.

The Huben GK1 is a great pistol until it isn't a pistol anymore. The last time I shot mine I heard the dreaded pop! whishhhhhhhhhh! and air started pouring out of the barrel. Again.

It was at a 250 bar fill, set for a very mild 16 fpe, the magazine was stuck? Not centered after the first shot. Air is pouring out of the barrel. I tried to advance the magazine a few times so it would line up again. Ended up with a few pellets in the barrel and a empty pistol that does not work now.

This is the second time I have had the pop! whishhhhhhhhhhhh! Issue.

I put it back in the pistol case and it is now sitting on a shelf while I figure out what to do with it.

Caveat Emptor. Be prepared for issues and have a backup plan for complicated hammerless designed pistols. Not recommended for knuckle draggers like myself. Not a recommended first pistol.

I don't understand. The GK1 can be set down to 6 ft/lbs easily. The PP700SA is about 12 ft/lbs stock
Yes, it is possible to dial the GK1's power down, but the time that it takes to do that is far too long for an immediate pest shooting opportunity. I leave my GK1s set for 700 fps. My PP700SA is set up for 600FPS with a 15gr JSB pellet. I have ruined the day of many pigeons at 100 meters with the PP700SA and yet the PP700SA will not punch holes in ceramic roof tiles and the GK1 will. Your call.

I see. So what you meant is that you don't want to adjust your GK1 down. The way you replied made it seem like the GK1 is inherently too powerful. I did not want the person asking the question to misunderstand due to your personal preferences and not the gun's inherent design.

Thanks.
