Daystate Pulsar 177
JSB 13.43g Knockout @ 978 fps / 28 fpe
My new (used) Daystate Pulsar made her first contribution to the rabbit stew. Hit just above and behind the right eye and exited the left eye.
Love this Pulsar!
These Jack Rabbits creep me the hell out, they're like alien bunnies, just creepy looking.
Oh well, they make a good stew.

Brooooo I feel your pain so much! I’m out in the desert right now finishing up a squirrel hunt but to see a coyote like that and now have the ability to shoot him would be torture.Pocket Gopher @ 38 yards...headshot slowmo

Well damnit, as much as I like shooting this Pulsar I think I'm gonna keep it for just backyard shooting which is a shame because it is so much better than that, but this is the 3rd time I've gone out for rabbit or whatever I find and I missed an awesome opportunity for a coyote. The yote was 80 yards out, not jumpy, just pokin around and I would have had an easy shot if I had brought my Vulcan 3 in 30 caliber. Oh well...from now on when in the desert I'm bringing the dirty thirty and my caller.
Never used range finders before, just got this little thing, good to 700 yards and now I'll never go out without it!
Saw 2 rabbits but never had a shot, too much brush and couldn't get a line on either. All I got today was a Pocket Gopher, sad day indeed :-(
I have the Pulsar zeroed in @ 50yds, at 38 yards it shoot's a bit high so aimed with the 1st hash mark (2mils)

I bet you could drop a coyote with a 18-22gr .177 slug. If the pulsar has a little more gofast juice to squeeze definitely a viable option.Pocket Gopher @ 38 yards...headshot slowmo

It was about 85 yards away so I would pass, maybe if it was under 40 yards but the 177 is only about 27 fpe and by 85 yards it probably lost a good percentage of thatw
If he’s hunting desert dogs I agree. The ones I see here in SW Utah/Arizona strip/nevada border are not the Saskatchewan mini wolves I’ve seen online. They’re a bit more scraggly and smaller. Don’t get me wrong you see a 40lbs+ male occasionally but mostly like 25-35lbs… with the right slug I don’t think that’s a problem.
I understand. I was just agreeing with what he said with the hypothetical “it has more gofast juice.” Starting at 27fpe it would have to be a really spectacular shot at 85y.It was about 85 yards away so I would pass, maybe if it was under 40 yards but the 177 is only about 27 fpe and by 85 yards it probably lost a good percentage of that
