AEA BinTac MCAR

Ok, so who else besides myself owns an MCAR? What are your thoughts about it so far? I will have to reserve mine till I can get more trigger time and gather more Data...just curious

@Arkansas_Airgunner There are a handful of MCAR threads I’ve read. There’s one on page # of this forum. I mostly recall reading of issues that owners encountered, but I can really only temper reading two or three threads on this monstrously long air rifle.

I just purchased the 7000 PSI .510 caliber Hunter version and I so far I like it. It is extremely accurate at least out to 100 yards so far. I have not had a chance to shoot at a further distance yet.
I’d be super interested in your thoughts and experiences on it, can you share some info on how many shots the 7000psi fill really provides? It’s my understanding that past a certain point compressing air to higher pressures hits diminishing returns, but still I’d imagine higher pressures in general is more available energy one way or another. The trickiest part imo is there aren’t any >4500psi tanks that are available practically, only very expensive and immobile welding gas tanks. So if you do want to run at max reg and tank pressures you’re very limited to the special compressor filling the gun directly. Either way the technology around airguns is inching further!

I will see what I can do. I am kind of noob to all of this stuff. However, I do have the AEA 7000 psi compressor. Two of them actually. What I was thinking of doing is taking one with me when I go out in the woods when I go shooting. I generally just go out to shoot at paper targets and exploding targets in the middle of woods only accessible by a four wheel drive. I have had the rifle out maybe four times now and what ive done so far is filled it at home to 7000 and just hooked up buddy tank to it out in the field. I generally am only out for a couple of hours and bring a few other air rifles to shoot so I am not only shooting one rifle. What I have noticed is that when I get home after firing mabye four or five magazines worth of .510 caliber ammo with the MCAR, the pressure in the MCAR is down to around 3200 psi and my buddy tank is around the same. I am not sure if this is answering your question or not. It would great if there 7000 psi tanks available on the market for us normal folk!

Depending on the size of the buddy tank, that sounds like great shot count to me. 3200psi is probably around the reg set point from the factory. Just a guess I don’t own one, but looking into it…!
Try shooting from 7000psi and no buddy tank, and note the gun’s reg and tank pressures to see where your reg is set and at what shot the gun is dropping off reg.
Thanks for the info!
