Droop Mount?

What is a droop mount and how do they work? A quick online search said they take out barrel droop and eliminate the need for lapping. So maybe the better question is what is barrel droop? My understanding of using a lapping bar is it aligns the scope rings. I can't wrap my head around how you could use them to align what sound like a misaligned barrel.

Some springer have droopy barrels.
Meaning you can’t get your scope adjusted because you run out of vertical adjustment.

On my HW95 I tweaked the barrel into compliance with barrel bender that I made.

Some people have a hard time with that.
I feel it’s the proper way to deal with droop if the design allows.

A droop compensating mount has a bit of downward angle to it pointing the scope down eliminates the effect of a droopy barrel.

Wow! Thanks guys. I had no idea. But now that you have me thinking about it, I recently helped a buddy sight in a lower end powder burner with a lower end scope / mount, and we ran out of adjustment on the scope. We were able to get it on target, but it wouldn't stay on target because of all the adjustment we had to use. I but we were dealing with barrel droop. Thanks for the info. Super helpful. I hope I never have to bend a barrel, that makes me cringe just thinking of it.
