Bought a tuxing .7 liter cf bottle (tank) that says it is compatible with fx, daystate etc. it does not fit my wildcat mk3. Threaded neck is way to big for the stock bottle fitting on the gun? Help

Almost all of those bottles have an M18 x 1.5 thread on them, but some mount via a separate valve that allows the bottle to be removed while still having air in them. My bet is that you bought a bottle that fits if you put the right valve part in it.
Typical with Chinese advertising - they love to tell you something that is true, but may not be the full story as it applies in different cases . . .
Edited to add: If you degas your old smaller bottle you could remove the valve and put it on the new bottle. At least then you could use it, and if you get another valve the small one could be a backup in the field . . .

If you bought it thru Amazon most returns are super easy. With eBay or Alibaba I have no idea how their returns work.

To use a standard m18-1.5 threaded bottle on an FX gun you have to have an adapter
Or take the one on your existing bottle and put it on the new bottle
