OK, I couldn’t resist—I ended up getting one.

First things first: the Gem is tiny, but it feels great in the hand. It has a reasonable weight and heft that gives it a solid, quality feel. With Copperheads, it's shooting around 315 fps. Even using the smaller 8g cartridges, I'm getting over 40 shots per fill, which is good.

Accuracy, however, leaves a lot to be desired. The trigger is surprisingly good, but I'm puzzled as to why they opted for a smoothbore barrel. Even minimal rifling would have significantly improved accuracy.

Unmoderated, the gun is fairly loud—comparable to a gas-powered airsoft pistol. I also picked up the moderator, which turned out to be pretty much useless in its stock form. It’s just a light foam tube inside, and it vents at the rear, so it doesn’t do much to suppress sound. I plan to replace the internals with something more effective to actually reduce noise.

That said, the Gem is very much a novelty item—and that’s perfectly fine with me. It's ideal for parlor or porch shooting, and maybe even for darts (though I haven’t tried those yet). As for practical applications, the only real use I can think of would be for dispatching snakes or scorpions at close range.

Its hilariously easy to carry around, I will probably toss it in a pack or pocket on the upcoming hikes just if the urge to get some trigger time arises.

A few final notes: the gun was designed in Canada and manufactured in Taiwan—which is actually a plus in my book. Taiwanese manufacturers are known for producing excellent airsoft guns, and the craftsmanship here reflects that. I’ll definitely be picking up the rifled pellet barrel once it becomes available.

Oh yes, it’s a nice little gun. Shot a few bb and a few airsoft bb. Fine.
I bought it to be a shotgun. Put the 6mm airsoft barrel on it, loaded with coarse salt. One carpenter bee down. But it was a little male.
Big mama requires more. She took a blast and buzzed my head making her escape.

Need heavier shot.

I just received 10k 1.2 mm steel bbs. Safety glasses are a must. I’ll try them out tomorrow.

It’s a quality little thing. Very heavy, good trigger.
BB accurate LOL

My only knock is the centering of the cart. There is an oring in the bottom of the cap that is supposed to center the cart. It gets out of place pretty easily. Lubed it up and it works better.

I loaded the mod with the baffles out of the Crosman 1701 which helped a lot .

My Gem prefers Umarex silver BBs over Crosmans; no surprise since the Umarex fit a bit snugger in the breech and don't vary in that regard like the Crosmans. My benchrest accuracy testing at the extreme range of FIVE yards  produced 4-5" c-t-c average five-shot groups. Had to adjust the rear sight almost all the way right in its adjustment to sight her in. Now shoots to point of aim at 2-4 steps, low beyond that.

Did a shot-count over the Chrony of a full 8 gram charge at 90 degrees today with the 5.35 grain Umarex BBs. Seventy shots, Low= 283 FPS, High= 313, ES= 30, SD= 5, Average=304 FPS/1.1 FPE. Could have gotten another 5-10 shots at declining velocity, but why?
