Western Airguns How'd you like the Mordax?

I like mine, it's become my travel gun so it's the one I use most. Plenty of power and light, it fits with gear and a 100 cu-in tank right in a backpack. Semi-auto and full auto action is great, I haven't had any issues with it. It is my newest gun but it handles being tossed around with my gear well. I'll recycle a few photos here. I've become quite a fan of Western Airguns!

The open sights it comes with work great if you take the stock off and use it as a pistol. They are too low to use with the the shoulder stock though. The stock works great (I do have an extender on it) with both the reflex and LPVO sights I've used on it.

It mostly fits what I want in pistol/SBR for my use case. Mags are expensive but all I need is one more. Life is short so will probably go for it when I have the money saved up.

I have found it to be very reliable. Mine is in .30 and I've shot thousands of rounds, pellets and slugs through it. I already had the Sidewinder which is why I already had a handful of the magazines. I travel a lot for work so it lives in a backpack and gets bounced around with my other stuff quite a bit. The only problem has been to re-zero the sights because of the abuse lol. The laser sight has held pretty steady it has been surprisingly handy in re-zeroing the optics.

I like mine and have been shooting it a fair amount. I do have mixed feelings about how high its priced for what you get. But over the last year or so I have watched the price of airguns go up a good bit. Really my only gripe would be the trigger. However it seems that most if not all semi-auto/fill-auto suffer from this. The trigger is not all that great if you consider the price. My Mordax trigger took some time to smooth out. Its better than it was when I first brought it home. That second stage pull has a fair amount of creep. Smooth creep though. Was not the case when I first got it. Switching from semi/full auto causes the trigger to get stiff and even raspy for the first pull in the selected mode. My Mordax is in .22 and I often times take pest birds out to 104 yards. I did mess with the power adjuster some to balance it out some and fine tune it. Have not messed with the reg yet as it seems fine. Its a cool little airgun and even though I have some issues with the trigger being less then desired I enjoy it.

I like my Mordax a lot. Need to shoot it more than I have so far.

I don't ever plan on using mine as a pistol. If I want to shoot a PCP pistol, I like my Manul best for that.

So as a short, foldable, handy carbine, I wasn't too worried about the length of the big honking Huma Mod 40 I put on the muzzle. Or the extra ~1/2" of LOP I get with the Magpul rubber butt pad on the stock.

My Sidewinder Compact, also in .22, is pretty loud from the action. I was pleasantly surprised that my Mordax was NOT. So that big mod allows the gun to be shot quietly and comfortably, with just a pfffut. I love it! Maybe just easier to moderate the sound since this gun produces a lot less power as compared to the Sidewinder?

I've just shot in my back yard, so I only fill to 250-260 bar and refill after each mag. I like that the gun gives me right around 800 fps with FX Atomic hollowpoints, even with that short little barrel. And the SubMOA barrel is very accurate. I think that the zero eye relief scope (MTC Viper) works really well in this application, providing plenty of magnification and a wide field of view, very comfortably.

It wouldn't bother me at all if these guns were semi-only, and lost the full auto. But it is fun once or twice, or when someone hasn't seen/shot the gun before.

I bought the gun pre-owned through AoA, and its operation has been flawless. I don't think that I've discovered anything about it which causes me to regret the purchase.
