GX Compressor repair

If you check out YouTube you will find several channels with very helpful videos. These small gsx units are super easy to work on and parts can be bought from target forge in California, @1900colt or gx official website. Target forge has a YouTube channel on gx repair. So does @1900colt. Hopefully he will chime in as I cannot remember the channel name. One called Jason s as well. Most likely something you can fix yourself 👍

If it's making any pressure, such as you said, 2kpsi, then it is likely that the check valve is the problem, at least it's worth looking at. On the CS3, I'm not sure where it is now, but on the CS2 it's a brass nut about 3/4" in size. Take it out and you'll find a spring and plunger with a black ball end. If it's gunked up, clean it and put it back together and give it a try.

Schematics are available on Target Forge website.

Thanks for the tip. I will try that.

Things to do/look for
As said above...check valve
Safety valve, make sure no air is leaking there
Test with the deadhead and see if the air bleeds down when you shut it off...if it does, you'll need some soapy water to find the leak. Common spot is under the pressure gauge.

If it doesn't leak down, you may need to clean out the piston and cylinder then regrease it.

If none of the above fixes it. Next thing to look at is replacing the low pressure seal. Easy job to do, and much cheaper than shipping one of those back and forth plus paying labor to repair..

We do have kits for these on Ebay as well if you need them.
