New coyote laws and regs coming to CA? Not pet or child friendly!

This story?
In that case it reads $600 and likely getting the bow back, and a lesson learned about sticking to one story (and one might suggest to draft that story with one's lawyer first).
Yeah probably same guy..

It seems as though the “guilty” plea was a deal with the DA to avoid a trial. Would I have taken a deal to avoid a “trial by karens”…. Probably the best choice given the changing climate in CA at the time.

At a place where our long range club held matches, this was with permission and insurance for our matches, I was practicing for our upcoming 1000y match on the 1000y berm.

A FS LEO drives up and gives me a $300 citation! So I find myself in a bizarre situation?!!! He stated I was shooting across a trail which is half true.

Everyone in the club got furious at the FS!!!!!! The club even offered to donate the money for the fine - which didn't happen BTW???

Anyway at the hearing the FS head locally in charge of this kindly offered to reduce my fine to $150 or he was going to charge me with reckless endangerment, AND whatever else he could think of. I paid the fine.
The gov hates you and thinks nothing of absolutely destroying you so always remember that.

From then on the FS posted agents on a nearby hill to make sure nobody shot past the 200y berm. Our club eventually disbanded.

The year previous I shot the high score at the annual 1000y match at this exact location and would have never imagined such a thing happening to me.

Killing yotes against the law. Be careful and vigilant to not give occasion to certain powerful gov entities.

Most people are ignorant about how high a coyote can jump. Building a coyote proof fencing system is quite expensive and almost impossible in any reasonable cost. So those suggesting fencing in your property so your pets will be safe are clueless.

In most places in California you can't build a solid fence higher than 6' and most places make you get a permit for fences over 4' in height. So even if you wanted to go higher you may not be able to legally. Hell some places prohibit fences over 4' tall in the front yard. And then you have to keep your pets inside the fenced area.

Most people will not be very happy if they lose their pets.

The idiots here think that the Yotes are so cute and cuddly, then then turn around and get upset when Brutus the Chahuahua becomes a snack or Fluffy the cat is MIA. They are getting aggressive in the South West Santa Clara Valley, Campbell, Los Gatos, Saratoga area.

I can say that even my .25 Maverick 600 is quiet enough that people on the other side of my fence and some thick bushes walking don't hear it 20' . The max fence height is 7ft, in most areas to my knowledge and another 14" to so with some lattice work.
Yep sometimes you just have to do what you gotta do.
