Other Smith and Wesson 76G Exhaust valve

nope there are no valves
so, they are rebuildable
could you take them apart, they need to be pressed apart and not with a hammer, bench top vise will work
answer that question and i will see what i can do for you
I believe I can get them apart, but I have a question, which way do I push the shaft out? I have 3 of them. I have seen JG airguns on Ebay offer a rebuild kit with the plunger, but it is shorter, and appears to have a nylon head. They also had the "exchange" program on their site.

tools needed
vise or arbor press
block of wood with a hole to push the shaft into
a punch to tap out what cannot be pressed out
JG airguns
there cost to do the service is not cheap and if i had to guess they are using heat and have taken no time to clean the valve stem, quick and dirty as they say
the valve
the stem is push out toward the seal side and in the crude drawing i have made you will see why
there a barb on the stem shaft and the barb holds the seal in place
long ago i bought urethane sheet goods and leather punches to make the seal and the reason was just because
i can make the seals and or rebuild them i live in Washington state

I am looking to purchase 3 exhaust valves for S&W 76Gs, I found one source that will exchange refurbished one for your old ones. But read that the customer service is very poor., and I do not want to lose the valves I have, because of poor communication. Anyone have a source for these valves?

Jg airguns, They are the place. You will get the part u need. I've sent many exchanges with Heather at Jg airgun you will get your part, I understand why they have the exchange policy. They need your I part to pass on to someone else. Good luck.

the stems for the S&W 78-79g are a three piece deal
you have the stem, a cup that is brass and the seal
the Crossman are all the same part 1322-a011 and that is a cast seal of unknown material on the steel stem
so, no i cannot make them

the S&W stems need to be taken apart cleaned and reassembled with a new urethane flat seal

So I push the stem towards the seal, it will come out and than I can put a new flat seal into the cup side. So the stem pinches the seal and some what holds the seal in place.
I am going to take them apart, and see what happens. I would gladly pay you for the new seals, if you can make them for me. I now have 4 guns to re-seal. I pick up a very beat up one at a yard sale this morning. It’s rough to say the least.

i have said many times this hobby is easy till it is not
i have done my 3 --S&W 78-79's in the past and got the material to replace the valve stem face
used leather punches to make them
use a vise and a wood block to push the stem out of the Brass seal holder and reassembled
so i told Mark to send them to me and i would fix him up i was guessing about 30 minutes back in the mail
now reality IF YOU CANNOT GET THE STEM OUT OF THE HOLDER YOU CANNOT REPLACE THE SEAL END OF MY STORY
and that is what happen
so, lesson learned don't believe you know the job as it can bite you in the A$$ and if yours it is alright but for others it is not

I have a model 78 that I want to get up and shooting again, is there a breakdown diagram for disassembly somewhere? Thanks
There are a few great tutorials on YouTube. It comes apart pretty easily. the only problem can be removing the power pin sleeve. It has to come out before the top and bottom hale can be separated. When you purchase the new seal kit, get nylon ones and get the one with the new value stem and save your self some time. Or buy the value stem separately from another seller. The O-ring kit is about 6 -9 dollars and the new stem is 5 dollars from another vendor. But the combo kit can run you 34 dollars. ( I have no idea why)
If you need any help, shoot me out an email, Marflow 777 is an outstanding source of information. He help me out considerably. I am currently re-sealing 2 of them and one I am completely re-painting and re-building. That one was a yard sale find and it was in less than "poor" shape.
Good luck, and have fun.
