FX Impact M4 Accuracy Help Needed

Last Saturday I got a new Impact M4 Sniper. Having a little trouble figuring it out. Shooting JSB 25.39 pellets. At 15 yards, 3 shots go in the same exact hole consistently. At 25 yards right at 1/4" groups At 50 yards I fired a complete 28 shot magazine and all shots were inside 5/8". Went to 75 yards and groups now look like they came out of a shotgun......6 to 7 inch groups. Appears the pellets are losing stability between 50 and 75 yards, what to do?

This is my first attempt at airguns, a whole new experience for me. I have been shooting rimfire and centerfire benchrest for 45 years and am a reasonably proficent shooter. Would truly appreciate some help with the longer distance accuracy issues.

When I was shooting yesterday afternoon, the sky was cloudy, (no mirage issues) wind was very calm, temp was around 70 degrees. Essentially a near perfect day for dialing in a new gun.

Thanks so much in advance,
Steve

If this is your first attempt at PCP airguns, you may have a challenge. You have chosen the most complex machine and there are way too many adjustment knobs and intricacies of this rifle that still baffles many of us. I would start off leaving all the factory settings as is, such as reg pressure and hammer spring settings. Then, remove the barrel shroud by unscrewing it and pulling forward. Unscrew the barrel nut and remove the barrel lining. Clean the lining thoroughly then put it back in noting that the circuferential groove goes to the rear. CLean with patches moistened with Ballestol until they come out clean follwed by dry patches. DO NOT use any brushes! Install the barrel nut until it contacts the liner by hand. Tighten the nut NO MORE than 1/4 turn. This liner compression can be critical. Re-intall the barrel shroud. If you don't have a chronograph, find one and measure your velocity. Pellets shoot best a 860-890 fps. Don't even think of messing with slugs at this point because you will have to retune the gun completely. That's a whole new ball game, and not worth it IMO.

Yes,you certainly need a chronograph. You are probably shootimg Too Hot. Those pellets like around 890-925 fps in an Impact. For a Sniper, you are looking at setting your first regulator around 170bar and the second at about 100bar. Set your power wheel in the middle and start from there. Any chronograph will do, you are just looking to get close and can fine tune when you accuracy gets better at lomg range. The search option on here works very well also.

Forgot to mention that on my Garmim, velocities were consistent at 880-890fps. Will clean it as recommended by jps2486. Second reg is at 115 bar. I fill the big bottle to 250 bar. Shoul I back it off to 170?

Thank you!
The FX M4 only has one regulator the 115 bar pressure is pretty close to what you're looking for.

OK after 75 yd no go did you shoot 50 yd again . If so did it group ok and is there a shift in ACCURACY . Left or right up or down .
The 28 shots I fired at 50 yards were after the bad results at 75 yards. Point of impact was pint of aim at 50. Just completed a thourough cleaning, and of course it's raining now, so will have to wait untill tomorrow to see what happens.
