My story starts with a leaky Skanaker Pistol shipped to Tim a Mac1 Airgun Distributors a long time ago. 2 weeks ago I got it back in the original box I used to send it to his shop. He had it for over 2 years and never touched it. He stopped taking most calls, he never returns emails and on those rare occasions when he actually did pick up the phone , all I got were excuses about how busy he was, how he ws living in his shop, how he crashed a motorcycle and how my call was taking up his valuable time. I believed the hype about this guy being one of the best, and his tube guns look pretty nice, so I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt,, felt sorry for him but in the back of my mind I started to doubt Id ever see the pistol again. I got it back, but my experience is that he is an overpromising, under-delivering airgun guru with an anger problem.
If any of you think of sending your airguns there, read the reviews closely and you will see that many of the recent posts mirror mine. I have completely lost faith in him as a reliable technician. Theres's homework to be done before you ship something there for service.
The siver lining is that I actually found a solid Skanaker mechanic. I found him in this forum and Im exceedingly happy with the results.
