Anyone have a better AEA Megalodon fix?

I love the gun don’t get me wrong I am not too pleased that I have to unscrew the bolt handle on the action to get it to run right. Tom at Bluegrass said that’s the only fix he knew other than a dremel to notch it. Reached out to Bin…. Radio silence. My concern in the notch Ali’s that it may weaken the metal causing breakage or bending. Has anyone done this or are we all unscrewing the thing to get it to work. I heard this doesn’t impact all Megs, just the lucky….

It only happened to me once, with the "22 barrel version. But never again after that. I recently purchased the "15 version as well (both are in .457), and it works flawlessly with or without the handle. Perhaps there is a luck factor at play, I don't know. But I did put some grease on the hammer, the bolt handle and on the edges of that crescent-shaped slit. Perhaps you could try that as well and see if it makes a difference.

If Tom is the one who sold it to you, then he should find a solution. After all, this not user error, but a known flaw of the gun's design.

Are you filling it to the max at 4500psi everytime? Find its sweet spot mine is at 4000-4100psi and I never had that problem again.

Thanks for the info. What type of grease did you use for the gun?

I used paintball marker grease, which is less thick and sticky than regular gun grease. But you could also use silicon oil (the stuff people use to lube o-rings) or even balistol if need be. You don't have to soak it. A light coating will do. Just enough to reduce some of the friction.
