With any used firemans tank that comes with a standard CGA347 valve, you will need something known as a "fill station" to use it connect to your airgun and compressor. There are many cheap ones on AliExpress or amazon, and some better stuff for more money from other vendors. Just as an example, something like this basic China unit : https://www.amazon.com/TUXING-Paintball-Filling-Charging-Inflation/dp/B0B2RG91LY/

or this more premium unit: https://airtanksplus.com/product/stikman-scba-pcp-fill-system/ (more expensive, but a great product with great reviews)

Or alternately, you could replace the whole valve with an all in one solution, but be sure that it fits the thread size of the tank you bought.

Well these big tanks normally do not fill with a little foster fitting, but you can get a adapter plug that fit the DIN thread and then have the little foster male for you to connect to.
Or you can use a adapter and fill backwards through your fill kit you would use on the big bottle, my friend do that with this new small Vevor compressor and it work just fine, using a very old FX fill kit.

I have a big compressor / compressors so i fill with the DIN300 connection

Been filling "big tanks with a little foster fitting" for 6 years now, NO PROBLEM! The rate of flow into the tank does not require more than a microbore whip/hose. Your statement is incorrect. The displacement of air from the HP cylinder of our compressors is very small per stroke. It will not overwhelm a microbore.

Yes it is for sure viable and no problem, it would take a HUGE fill rate to overcome what ever flow rate a micro bore hose would allow for.

Funny fact my Tuxing copy of a Coltri MCH6 compressor have a fat 1/2" fill hose, my brand new Coltri MCH6 Icon compressor it have a 1/4 fill hose, both still terminating in a DIN connection, but that’s solely due to the audience they are targeted for.

I sort of assume a Daystate compressor of the same origin / caliber would come with foster or at least foster fittings / adapter to accommodate our need.

I'm relatively new at PCP. When I bought my smaller, CF tank, I wanted a twin gauge which would show tank vs line pressure. Only then did discover the challenges of threading sizes. But I finally got everything worked out so it's only a short whip with Fosters at each end.

This isn't what the OP inquired about so my post is more of an sidebar

When i upgraded my 9L CF bottle i did contemplate one with 2 gauges, but decided against it as the tank pressure is always there when i shoot tethered to the bottle.
so when i start shooting i see the tank pressure all the time until i stop and close valve / bleed line.
So i went with a simple valve / fill kit, as having a fill kit connected to the valve on the tank took up too much space.

I used a fill station and double male Foster to fill my SCBA tank, as you described. FWIW

Ordered a used "30 min" CF tank.. $45+$20 shipping/ I guess I'll wait until it arrives and make a decision on what to purchase for filling.. I like the idea of replacing the entire valve.. Not sure what threads the 4500 CF tank will come with.. Thanks All!
If it is a fireman’s type bottle (not Chinese), the thread size should be 7/8-14
