Renewing Classified Ads

Is there any thought on limiting the number of times an ad can be renewed? Some ads stay on forever, are never modified, no price change, etc. This tends to clutter up the pages because you have to filter through so many to find the new ones. 2 months time limit seems to be enough. Member could always repost it but it would force them to do more than just click a button.

As mentioned... set your filters to 0 replies and latest post first.

As I've noted before, I dont mind it... this is still the most active classifieds around. Most days there is an entire PAGE full of new ads to peruse through. If a particular ad has been listed over and over, I just dont look at it, unless I just need a chuckle.
Still not a bad problem to have given the activity here.

I honestly don't mind it and here's why. For me, I always bookmark the for sale items I'm interested in. If there was something that I've been thinking about, but needed to do more research, or wait until my pocketbook feels fuller, I don't mind seeing the ads again and again. Then I might contact the seller and ask questions, but I still know it's out there. I'm very picky about what I buy and unless I have shot a gun, or looked through the same scope, I don't know how I'll like it once I get it. So leaving the ads up give me time to make a better decision before I pull the trigger and buy something. If there starts to be limits on how often sellers can list something, they might start putting their ads on other websites instead. Just be thankful we've got an enormous active community and leave it alone.

Exactly, I too have had to wait to buy until payday or even save for a month or two. I’m a firm believer in if you don’t like it then don’t look at it.
