Taipan Taipans and more Taipans

Did what I'd never imagined that I would. sold my vet 1 taipans - For vet 2 versions! Yes, once that ADL feature was put in the vet 2's , the die was cast. picked up a standard in 22 and have a 25 tactical version coming any day now. Needed to restock the stable . Now, I'm dying to get the slash but I don't have 6k for all 3 guns. So the slash is set for Feb Ordering.
Now as for the vets, lookin forward to feeling them out. The 22 I've had a bit and it's performance is very similar to it's predecessor with the obviously better cocking lever. Can't complain there! The 25 tactical, I went with the 700mm version. the longer barrel should make it better with power and quieter performance. But we will see.

I believe that you will be happy with the new Vet 2's. I have two Vet 2 tactical versions one in .22 with 550 barrel and one in .25 with 700 barrel. Both are great shooters. I mainly do pesting with them and they excel at that. Mine are not the newer versions with the anti double feed which is a great improvement but not enough to make me upgrade yet...I am very interested in the new Taipan Slash. Hopefully some first impressions and reviews will be out shortly. Enjoy your new Taipan's!

I own two "ugly pigs" and they are definitely pigs when it comes to harvesting pests on my ranch! One in .22 for the ones under a 80 yards and a .25 for over that distance. I also have a Huben K1 limited in .25 for when the weather warms and there are many prairie dogs out as sometimes the shooting gets pretty fast.

Pictures of your new 2 please.
But of course. Here’s one since I just pulled it out of the box.

Love my 25 caliber Taipan Vetran 2 tactical 700mm. Very accurate with JSB KO. I can't bring myself to sell my 25 caliber Taipan Vetran long though. Still might get a Taipan Vetran 2 with adf in 550. Thinking about selling my Kalibergun cricket tactical 2 60. Still mulling it over. Decisions decisions 🤔
Tough decision I’ll bet. The standard vet 2 is more restrictive power wise in 550 because you can’t add the plenum. You should be able to in 700mm standard. If you go 550mm I’d stay with the tactical design. I , having both really like both, but I favor the less bulky feel of the tactical version. I barely shot mine as I’m writing this, but it’s already as good as my converted vet 1 was. Only difference is the unchoked vs choked barrel.

My Taipan Vet 2 550 tactical in .22 cal has all the power that I could want. Shooting AEA 18.3 grain pellets it averages 1009 fps 4 feet extreme spread and SD of 1. It also shoots AVS .218 23 grain slugs at 864 avg, 8 fps extreme spread, and 3 fps SD. Shoots both very accurately and dispatches the pests I shoot with very well. My .25 Vet 2 Tac does very well also.

I think it is a good looking rifle and not an ugly pig. Like it 👍
Agreed, it was just a monicker that it was given on it's initial reveal. Honestly, I grew more attached to it because of it's "feel" when you shoot it. very streamlined. I have a real good idea what the slash will be like handling and shooting. But as for appearence, I never minded the offset bottle, as for performance, I'll be stacking lots of pests with this.

My Vet2 Tactical 550mm .22 shoots the AVS 20gr .2183 as well as JSB 18gr also! Does ok with NSA 20gr .218 but not as accurate as the AVS.

Yes that unchoked barrel on my vet 2 loves slugs and pellets. If I get a vet 2 in 550 I will probably just shoot pellets. But with the 700 standard I'd be able to shoot both. But it'll be a while now, as I just ordered a powder burner pistol with the money that I had for another Taipan. That's my problem I love airguns and powder burners. 😆
