Events Iowa field target fun shoot

We will be having a field target fun shoot in West Liberty Iowa Sunday June 1. It starts at 1:00 and runs till 5:00. There is a $15.00 range fee.

This will be the first ever field target shoot in Iowa. I am going to make it as much fun as possible.
Targets will be set at 15-30-45 yards with a 55 yard bonus target.
1 point for a face plate 2 points for a knock down.
All the kill zones will be at maximum.

This is so I can start to gauge the level of skill and set the next course appropriately . I will be using the Troyer scale.

There are four lanes with three targets and a bonus target. We will have to see how many times we can go through to loop .

I got some major clearing and mowing done. There are now a couple clearings behind the firing line.
I am going to permanently add a picnic table to one and use a pop up tent with chairs for the other.
The sight in range works great with the permanent targets and my little one with the tape lets me see exactly what yard it goes to zero and when it drops off.

Today was the first ever Field Target competition in Iowa!

I just want to thank everyone for coming out and for supporting the effort to bring the sport of Field Target to Iowa.

And I need to thank the West Liberty Gun Club for allowing and supping this effort. The West Liberty Gun club has really gone above and beyond with support.

Today we had a really nice fun shoot day. I hope everyone got a taste of the sport and I am looking forward to the next competition.

We had six shooters in PCP Hunter and Spring Hunter class.

Today was the first time shooting Field target for everyone and it was an informal fun shoot.

Bill Jennings had the highest score in PCP with an Avenger. And Ray Elthon was the top springer with his Diana 48

Congratulations to all the shooters today. And thank you all for coming out to shoot.
