Brocock/BRK Got the Ghost .25 HP in today!!!

Got a .25 HP in on my shipping bench moments ago from Airguns Of Arizona, all I could do was open the case and give it a look and a few pictures, its topped with a forerunner 6-24 Athlon but I surely will be trying both the Midas Tac Gen 2 I got in and the DNT The One on it.

Also can't wait to attach the new from UTG Goliath as I am already pretty impressed with it

Anyways,

I brought in some 25 grain hades, 29 grain domed JTS , and arguably my favorite pellet the 33.95 MK2s.

Id like to see how this thing goes from a pesting standpoint with shot count and accuracy being looked at with the hades, and then see which of the two heavier pellets work best from a bench standpoint.

Anyways, follow along!

Congrats on your new gun. I was looking between that and the Impact. Ended up going with the Impact. I'm in the process of tuning and seeing which slug works the best with my Impact. (Just got into shooting slugs, lots to learn from shooting slugs)
I have experience with the Impact, really a tuneable rifle, I had great luck with my MK2 Impact .22 shooting zan .218 30.5

My Ghost HP .25 came to me with the reg set at ~135. With the Power Wheel at 12, it shoots the 33.95's great at 904 fps. Better than the 25.39's when they are going hot (980-990 at power wheel settings 5-12). However when I drop the PW to the MIN setting, the 25.39's fly at 955 fps. Need to re-zero as the POI changes by about 1/4" to the right. But then they 1-hole all day long (at least on my 25 yard range) and their accuracy starts to beat out the 33.95's.

So much more work to do to find best settings and projectile, but these guns are shooters! Congrats on your new one.

This one came set at 155, I loaded a mag full of 25 hades and it shot almost transonic at 1068 fps lmao

Min setting at this reg pressure only yielded roughly 900 fps with them.

When I get back I am going to drop the reg to 120 psi , and work from there to get a perfect tune for the hades to see how it is from a pesting standpoint then I'm going to run the other pellets through their paces and tune for them.

A year ago I'm took two javalinas with a Ghost .30 Cal.... And made the very best shot I have made with a PCP to a running quail.

I have a DW .25. Barrel on the ghost should be the same I would think. Def try jts 29.6 domed pellets. My barrel absolutely loves those things.

Pellets are most accurate at speeds between 860 and 920, with the sweet spot being around 880 fps. Your experience is not surprising.

Congrats on the ghost, love mine! Couple of things about the ghost:

It feels at home with reg north of 130, better 140 or so. The other thing is that with the HP spring, reg at 120 will render the power wheel almost useless because the spring is too strong and will basically always open the valve fully. Plus you’re slamming your valve. On mine (.22 HP), I have the reg at 142ish but run the blue spring (weaker than the HP spring) and the power wheel gives me 100-150fps range from min to max depending on pellet. At 120b, you’ll need a way weaker hammer spring than the HP spring you have in the rifle.

That depends on the pellet I guess… AEA .22 18 and 22gr love to go hot out of most of my rifles (like 960 to 980).

I agree on all of this, and also the rifle , 33.95 out of my Taipan loved 890, 33.95 out of my huben loved 965....

Also thanks for the info above, that would explain a lot!!! I was unaware the HP had a different hammer spring over the standard!
