So today I received a Ghost .25 from AoA and I had to get out and shoot even if it was a little rushed , it felt really good.
I haven't shot a single thing in over 14 months. My range is a little unruly right now as I'm waiting for a new fuel tank for my brush hog so I can groom it. Also the Holey Fridges are still there as soon below
Anyways I went to go setup the rifle with the UTG Goliath and no bueno, it just does not fit, the Goliath and the BRK Ghost are not meant to be in factory trim. I am going to make a post about this and link it here so you can all see what I am talking about .
So I ran back up to my place and got another shooting bag. I really don't like shooting off a front bag , but it is what it is.
There is also now an old camper being stored at the range, as can be seen in the background
.
First impressions are, this is a high quality rifle. I will get more into detail the more I use it, I don't feel this is a fair time to give pros or cons since I don't have much seat time behind it.
One thing I can say is, I have big knuckles, the charging handle, while comfortable to rack back, comes down very far and I bump my knuckle on the way in to grab the grip every time. Minor, but worth noting if you're a knuckle dragger lol.
So this rifle is not setup for me, it came with the scope, it came tuned extremely hot, I made no adjustments to the setup except play with the power wheel to get a kind of "OK" tune.
Here is how it started and progressed as I played with the power wheel, this was with 25gr. I got it to a relatively consistent spot and shot at some targets to get a feel, it didn't really like this tune and pellet combo, the reg on this thing is set HOT at 155 bar. The lowest i could get the 25s to go on this tune with the powerwheel on minimum 2 is actually the second chrono string.
Anyways, I then switched to 29 gr and ditched the chronograph and played with the powerwheel till I got accuracy.
Here's an moa or very close to moa 10 shot groups at 50 yards
I know I can do better, but for not having shot in 14 months, rushing this out there, not even setting it up for me, I'll take it! and was very pleased.
Then on the 6th mag of the night I decided to run the KYL. Unfortunately the last little sucker avoided me twice.
All in all I am pumped to be shooting again, when I get back I am going to bring this rifle down to 115 to 120 bar and work from there, this rifle has some oomph behind it.
Now some pics of peri and I
