Tariffs Explained - Pyramyd AIR Insyder

Our continual need for WANTS is what causes most of the greed......We will see how the tariffs turn out when modern society if forced to only attend to their NEEDS and their WANTS put on the back burner!

Trust me, China and Europe are coming to the table! They are highly motivated to BUDGE. If you know how to play the game money will still be saved/earned. ;)
And after prices have stabilized at the new levels do you imagine the corporations will reduce prices if tariffs are reduced or eliminated? For reference see current fuel prices vs historic barrel of oil prices.

If you believe what you wrote you really need to study the economic history of tariffs and trade wars because reality is quite different.

Any continued broad based tariffs will have our economy looking like Brazil's. High inflation, high prices and limited diversity of products.

My wording of WANTS went right over your head and most likely half of the others viewing this thread?

I saw this coming 45 years ago so I prepared for it and lived within my means and lacked for nothing. I'm self made and worked very hard for what I have. A world of consumerism is unsustainable as we're now seeing. Stop purchasing and prices will come down. We are in a limited diversity of cheap garbage products now with no parts to maintain yet we're told many catch phrases how to help the environment. It's all market manipulation at it's finest to transfer your wealth to them.

If you lived closer, I'd treat you to a meal and I'd teach you about what I know about economics.

I know I tapped out, but let me tap in again for a second ;)

If we stop buying, the economy will not like it. But more importantly, if people wanna buy cheap crap products, who is to tell them they aren’t allowed to do that? Freedom much? Sounds like you favor a centrally-planned economy where some overlord decides what products should be available and at what price. Let people have their WANTS ffs. I also work and worked hard for what I have, so maybe let me decide what to do with it…

I think it is you that is being controlled by the overlords right now that you accuse me off? I saw the cheap products hit the markets in a huge way (60's) and the high quality stuff was mostly taken off the shelves by mid to late 70's. I know what I speak, I lived it!

It most certainly ain't me and never will be me controlled by the overlord. My schooling was in the 60's and 70's where we actual got educated and not indoctrinated. In my day, we had to earn our degrees, today one just needs to pay their money. I read it all day long how when the boomers are gone things are going to change. Well, this boomer is still here and I don't know how much more change we're going to enter for the masses to wake up.?

I'll say it one last time, then I'm out, tariffs are not a quick fix, it took decades to get to this point and it could very well take a decade or so to get straightened out.......We will see!

On the National news last night (for whatever that is worth): Although the Chinese have spent the last weeks saying that there was no talking, no negotiations going on, suddenly (it was reported - ABC National news) that they now say they have initiated trade discussions with the U.S.

Guess that they weren't able to flip that light switch, and immediately generate new trading partners to replace the U.S. like they originally said.

Anyone buy a freezer lately? One that does not have a Chinese compressor? When the tarifs force your kids back to the factories remember again how things were 50 years ago! Somehow I still don't trust ANY politician..still have not seen cheaper gas or groceries..anyone?
Oh it's coming, slowly but surely.

What? We're now going to make kids work again......I wish my dad was still alive so I could sue him for handing me a stellar work ethic. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

True story! I asked my dad once for a quarter, he said "son follow me out to the garage". He handed me a snow shovel and said "start knocking on some doors you lazy punk. Where do you think I get my money from"?

There is no fear of making kids work in today's world, is there?

Ehhhh…no I don’t think we are going back 50 years. One of the reasons you won’t see (in my opinion) as many jobs return in the manufacturing sector as people think. The hands on ones won’t return as they have been replaced by automation. That won’t change. Heck a computer will be doing my job in the near future.

Will Pyramid Air start putting a tariff surcharge as a line item on the receipt? It would be interesting to see how the tariff really impact the airgun hobby.
Not sure about that. No doubt we will see the costs passed on to us. I know Amazon wanted to do basically what you are saying and some people were fuming about it. I mean what is wrong with transparency? I’m all for it as should be everyone

What made America Great was production not big anti-GOD government. TRUTH wealth is production.
Yes, just ignore the corporations that actually have provided the capital and technology to China. Totally the fault of the government and the voters.

And how exactly is our economy destroyed?

Hint: 1st Amendment of the Bill of Rights explains religion and government.

Truth is, all the babies now day need to be entertained when fed the news.......I miss the days of listening to old boring Walter Cronkite, one hour of news and we were all up to speed. ;)

These day, my wife and I watch over 4hrs daily news and we live stream a lot in the background. We watch Left, Right, and center......No one should have to watch an unreasonable amount of news to get the truth. Sensationalism indeed sells.

Hi there, it's the American companies like Apple exploiting Chinese workers due to almost none existent worker's rights in China. It takes $10 to make an iPhone, which sells for $1000. Apple keeps all the profits and keep the investors wealthy. If the same iPhone were to be made in the USA, it would cost around $3000.

Most manufacturing jobs of today is automated anyways, not going to create enough jobs for the American folks. With artificial intelligence on the horizon, more jobs will be replaced ... but new ones will be created.
