Discovery Knocked it out of the park with this model

I've noticed the same thing. It's different from a tight eyebox. Mine definitely blurs when out of alignment.

Illumination also bleeds.

But I also want to agree with what @ctshooter mentmentioned - the reticle is visible across the magnification range. Much better than their 4x erector line
100% I tried at 2-4-6-10-12. I found myself at 4x most of the day due to the reticle clarity and visibility at 4x Mag. Easily pulling off shots. GEN2 won't be hard to perfect.

Ive got one on my GK1 Carbine, it’s a brilliant little scope for the money 👍

My Spina magnifying ring quit working today. Got to send it back🥴.
That sucks. Try loosening The rear scope ring a tiny bit, sometimes if the scope ring is really tight it can prevent the mag from working properly. Sometimes if the front ring is too tight the parallax/focus won't function properly.

1 strike and out , I really wanted to like this discoveryopt 2-12x24 but the one I was sent has some issues.

There was some good I liked the size and weight it fell like a solidly built scope and the tool was nice . The bad was so bad I don't know if I can give it another chance. The main issue was clarity at 12x , it starts going out of focus at 9mils on the reticle from there it gets progressively worse to the edge so when I would go down in magnification the reticle shrinks and so does the clear area by 7x it was completely unusable. The other issue was the magnification ring it was so tight I had to grip it with my whole hand to turn it finger tips weren't going to do it same with the parallax .

Sometimes things just don't workout .

I've had this happen with a Discovery HT 3-12x40. I would say you ended up with a lemon.

As for the magnification ring, mine is on the stiff side, but it's workable. The parallax wheel is quite comparable to some UTGs or other scopes in the $200 range. I made a side wheel for mine, but that's more a matter of preference (I have them on everything)
