Results Open Grove USARB 5/3/2025

We decided to more seriously compete USARB because we have 25M rifles we don't use much anymore because of concurrent N50. We had 9 shooters show up for our first USARB night match. We shot 25 yards 'outdoors' to compete against the 'indoor' guys for standings. First match was busy flags, second match was still. We avoided the expected 20mph winds & rain. We were all very happy shooting at night so it will be a new USARB only monthly event.

JoeF crushed it with 749-63Xs! It was a sound whooping. I hung in there with the Millers using a new to me FT Thomas Carbine jerry-rigged for bench - man those 8.4g/.177s are tiny. 2nd match Doug came on strong with his 747-42 HV. The scores for the 2nd match should have been better but those mystery 'drafts' wrecked havoc on us.

It was awesome.

Joe’s bright lights covered the shooting area well. Some of us shooters had brought additional lights to light their targets up, some resting on buckets, one resting on the ground pointing up and one mounted on a tripod. You have to come prepared. The weather was beautiful out at the range. After the match, standing out in the shooting area, it feels so different in the dark, and the quietness, not hearing anything.
looking forward to the next match.

Joe thank you for hosting and scoring.
Lou for helping.

Looks like you guys had a great time. I shot rimfire earlier in the day and was watching Joe mess around with his 25M air gun. That thing is crazy consistent. I think he needs to nickname that gun “Driller.” Good Shooting, Doug and Chris in match two!

Vipha and I had a really good time shooting at Open Grove, especially having all the additional shooters and most of all to have Joe Friedrich compete in the USARB, WRABF, disciplines. I would like to point out that in the first match, Joe shot a record outdoor HV score at a regular club match here in Oxnard, Ca. , in a very tricky wind. Congratulations Joe. Incredible shooting.

Congrats to Joe for a record winning score. Hopefully we will see many more.
Perry, Yes, it would be great to see Joe, a world class shooter to compete with us and not score the targets until later on in the future. 63 X count is very Impressive along with 749 score in the wind. He said that he was very patient shooting that match. Joe should go to a WRABF Match and represent USA. Joe has set many records in Rimfire and Vipha and myself have Joe to thank for our good luck at representing USA at three World Championship Matches.

Doug, thank you for the kind words. Had fun and enjoyed the evening.
