Field Target Pistol

If your considering going down the "rabbit hole" of 12 ft. lb. pistol Field target shooting you should consider the FT Marauder Pistol offered by Rich at Airgun Revisions. He basically makes a 1720T ( not in production any more )out of a Marauder pistol with a .177 cal. LW barrel, regulator and tuned to just under 12 ft lbs to be completely legal and ready to go out of the box, and they are just shy of $800. Not only does he offer a good pistol but he is a great guy who is easy to communicate with and will listen to your wants and needs. You can get him on the phone and he will call you back if you leave a message. I can't say enough, at the end of March I discovered my pistol I had purchased from him about 1 year ago had a leak and with the Texas ROT coming up at the end of April I was in a real bind as I didn't want to send it off before the competition. I called Rich to let him know I would be sending it after the match, He asked me to check a few things and if that was it he could mail parts to fix the problem. I did the checks and the leak was still there so I let him know. I had a shipping label sent within 1/2 hr with a promise of 1 week turnaround on the repair. A week later I got a tracking number from him and the pistol was on its way back. a couple of weeks of practice and I was able to place 2'nd with it at the TX ROT. The consistency of the performance is amazing as well as the accuracy.

The add on grips and for-end are from Conrad at Voidone on E-bay and really help with the control of the pistol and the palm swell help in stability on the knee for shooting. Conrad worked with me and custom printed the for-end to my specs. They come in a bunch of colors and the package was like $75. The Hawke 4x16 Airmax scope sports a wheel from Jody at DMPC 3D Printing. He also was very accommodating and got the wheel out to me in just a couple of days. He makes really good wheels for the Hawke Airmax scopes.
The 1'st place shooter used a Benjamin 1720T which makes the top two scores, 54/60 and 52/60 from Benjamin air pistols.
So, if your thinking about a 12 FT lb Field Target pistol, be sure to check out what Rich at Airgun Revisions has to offer.

That's some great info!
Very cool info refarding the scope choice and grips.
Our ROT winner. Paul shown in picture with an apple in hand was shooting a 1720T and oddly to me, he filled it after every lane and blew off a shot after every fill or before each lane. I do not think it was a regulated model. I also have one of AR's Marauder pistols but haven't used it much as i got it at the same time as my TM 1000 pistoli also shown in picture.
I have to say I was a VERY lucky dude to get squad mates Like @Scott-D and Paul... two of the best darn FT coaches on the planet. @zx10wall is another good coach and of course Ron R or maggie... i think maggie is a great coach too.
I scored a measly 53% KZ rate.... as it's more about the Indian than the Arrow.
I like pistol HFT because it is HARD!

My little 1720t in a Corcoran stock is all I want in a field target pistol. Pellet on pellet on pellet accuracy. And not pellet picky either, it'll do that with multiple varieties.

I've actually never even tried to adjust a thing, it's still shooting at the factory 8.5 or whatever fpe. Its been good for top 3 finishes at the AZ State FT match for the last 3 years.

I don't have to blow off shots. I think I get 30ish shots per fill, before the fps drops off enough to matter for field target. I usually refill halfway or so, through a match.

good info... i may have to break my Marauder HFT Pistoli back out... it's got the Corocan furniture on it and i updated the scope to one of my extra S-tacs, I was thinking i only got 20 shots (regulated) before i refilled... maybe i psych myself out.

Some shot string data from mine in this post ....

I eventually moved over to the 7.87s, just to be a bit flatter since I'm underpowered relative to most pistol ft shooters. Wind out to only 35 yards, max pistol ft distance, isnt too big of a difference between 8.44s and 7.87s, at least in my opinion, based on comparing the wind drift of them both from this gun at these low speeds.
