Anyone had problems with certain pellets being hard to load? I mainly use Barracuda 8s and JSB Heavies and until recently I have had no problems with either but all of a sudden the 8s are very notchy and hard to load, the only thing that I have done different is to change the pellet probe O rings and yes they are the correct size and there is little chance of getting the alignment wrong with the mounting and no I haven't used too much force, and It's also not any looser than intended, yet the JSB heavies have no problems, and they are pretty much the same dimensions.

But there are different feedback chambering some pellets on my Two rifle, even very similar pellets.
So for instance JSB heavy will chamber just as effortless as a slug would IE not feeling a thing, but the very similar JTS dead center pellets feel like they have a harder time passing over the transfer port,
I have been thinking these JTS are they getting damaged even if it is by all means not a gauging feeling i get chambering one of those, but then i dont think so CUZ both models will shoot just fine in my rifle.

I am wondering why not least rifles also meant to shoot pellets, have the huge dual port transfer ports ( it is the same in my FX Maverick )
Why dont any make smaller but 3-4-5 hole transfer ports, CUZ this will have absolutely no say with the pellets, and flow should be just as good / easy.

Strange if you have had no problems and it suddenly changing.

I know in my Maverick with the dual hole transfer port and pin probe it is the same issue with pellets, but changing to the regular probe fix that problem just fine, but this stock probe also push the pellet forward engaging on all of the skirt VS the pin probe that go inside the skirt and push the pellet forward pushing in the center of it.

I see your point I was also wondering if the big transfer port was the cause but as the mag can't be removed when this happens I am thinking it may be down the mag itself rather than the TP because of this as I would have expected the pellet to be a bit further in if it was, but It's just occurred to me that I should be able to pull the barrel out and get an idea where the pellet is.

I have got used to the big mag, probably an impatient shooter

I have just run a test and made a very thin shim for the mag to reduce the amount of deflection when the pellet is pushed through it and this has reduced the amount of hard to load/notchy pellets and the one that did get stuck I pulled the barrel and the pellet was not in the barrel but had dropped out in the breech so that say to me that the mag is the problem as it didn't even get as far as the transfer port.

Examine your magazine like this with some pellets installed and take some pictures
